We are getting the complete series 1-7 here in the UK via Fabulous Films. Sadly no extras, though they do list the 1968 and 1971 pilots as extras. Not even isolated music scores are listed. Still, nice to get them over here in a 20 disc set at £100.
Just wondered about whether Classicflix could acquire the RKO Shorts of Leon Errol & Edgar Kennedy. The BBC screened almost all the RKO library (features and short). I asked them (around 1980) how many shorts they would be showing, and they sent me a photocopy of their RKO Shorts catalogue...
Having now rewatched the first two reunion movies - they are fine PQ wise. Artistically not so fine. Atrocious music throughout, no sign of the old $6m Man/BW theme music. And where was Callahan in these reunions. Not even mentioned. Was Jennifer Darling approached to appear? No...
Have now finished the BW episodes on bluray (have yet to re watch the reunions). Picture and sound quality very good indeed. The only episodes i dislike are the "comedy" ones (Dijon caper, once a thief, rancho outcast) which are painful.
however, watching the Lindsay Wagner Q+A on...
I just watched the 4k Argento Cut. There's a piece of jaunty comical music that i vividly recall on the old laserdisc when the zombies are walking through the mall - this isnt on this cut. Without having to search, would this bit of music be on the Theatrical cut ? Anyone know which bit...
Had an email from Flicker Alley this week regarding "Mack Sennett vol 2" and requested some Ben Turpin/Harry Langdon blurays for the future. Their reply:-
Unfortunately at this time there are no plans for a Mack Sennett Vol. 2, but more Laurel & Hardy may be coming soon. We really appreciate...
Is there a thread for season 2 yet. Amazon is saying the DVD set is 3 discs, and the bluray is 2 discs. Is this right. What is being compromised?
Also anyone know anything about the Bluray/DVD combo "Abbott and Costello rarities" from "Thunderbean animation". Their website and...
The series turned up in the 1990s on 3 (i think) ITV regions inclucing my own (HTV). Really enjoyed The Pruitts, but less so in it's second half, ie The Phyllis Diller Show where the supporting cast changed and the format slightly altered. A proper release would be great.

I have the UK bluray set which is very nice, but this release is more than tempting owing to the great number of exclusive extras including many new commentaries on this set.
Press blurb is slightly incorrect as Face at the Window is already out on region A Bluray, so not a world premier. Ive ordered the set (and the bio). I assume licensing issues prevented them from adding his final two films - Curse of The Wraydons/Greed of William Hart. Maybe a double bill...
my wish list from the Fox archives
Voyage to the bottom of the Sea (tv)
Planet of the Apes (1974 tv)
Green Hornet (tv)
Journey to the unknwn (hammer tv)
Laurel and Hardy (1941-1945)
In the UK s1 of columbo got a bluray release a few years ago, with the hint that the other seasons would follow. But s1 didnt sell well and no further seasons got released.
Sadly two recent DVD releases didnt help their company...... the awful "Give us a Clue" panel game, and the equally awfull "Eurotrash". Especially when fans like myself were crying out for other releases to be completed. Will miss them terribly.
Network who since the year dot has released hundreds of classic niche TV Series and films on DVD and bluray, has since last week gone into liquidation. Very sad day for us Brits. Among the great blurays released were almost all of the Gerry/Sylvia Anderson series, and various ITC shows...
Still no sign of any New Avengers set(s) yet. Surely Studiocanal aren't waiting for 2026 for the 50th anniversary. And i suspect that Joanna Lumley won't contribute much to any release (I dont think she did anything for the Ab Fab DVD sets)
The BFI was just removed from their schedule owing to issues with Paramount. It should be back on track now as this edition is happening. I can't say I like the Criterion cover above
Off topic, but Dozier's failed Dick Tracy Pilot - did they film any footage for other episodes? The reason I ask is ive seen photos of Lon Chaney Jr being made up for a villain ("Pruneface") . Why would they get him to undergo the great makeup and not film any footage.
