A Few Words About While we wait for A few words about...™ Lawrence of Arabia -- in 4k/UHD Blu-ray

When you can buy a Blu-ray player for under $70 now a days why for pity's sake why? LOA would look dinky in its original aspect ratio on an 4:3 TV anyway and if you have a 16:9 HDTV why for the love of all mankind would you want the DVD version? That being said, there will probably be a DVD...

A Few Words About While we wait for A few words about...™ Lawrence of Arabia -- in 4k/UHD Blu-ray

I don't think that the number of people that would buy the UK version would be a significant amount for them to worry about. The small hassle to do so is enough of a hurdle that most consumers would not bother or know about it at all. The amount of people that would actually order through...

A Few Words About While we wait for A few words about...™ Lawrence of Arabia -- in 4k/UHD Blu-ray

Lawrence of Arabia is as perfect an example of what movies can be and how good a larger image and surround sound can be to watch not only in a good cinema but also in a home theater environment. Lawrence of Arabia and other epic films by Sir David Lean like Bridge on the River Kwai, Dr Zhivago...

LOL I have to look at that again. Back in the days before home video made possible viewers pausing rewinding and replaying scenes over and over again or the Internet telling you what to look for. You would never notice those things in the theater watching it live.

Blu-ray Sales Historical Trends Reports and Discussion

Note that last week the cumulative TBO for the 2Q 2012 vs 2Q 2011 comparison was almost -12% down YoY which matched well with Blu-ray only being up +2.8% in revenues YoY for the 2Q. Because of the large new release box office advantage for week 26 in favor of 2Q 2012 in just one week that TBO...

I'm within driving distance of NYC. Any recommendations and possible locations for seeing LOA in its best glory when it arrrives on the East Coast specifically around the NYC area when it arrives?

USHE Press Release: Universal Classic Monsters: The Essential Collection (Blu-ray) includes Creature

Thanks for mentioning this. That was holding me back from ordering it from Amazon UK. This is a Holy Grail set for me. Along with the Hitchcock box set these are the kinda of titles I've dreamed about seeing in high definition optical disc ever since before the format war days and the first...

USHE Announcement: Alfred Hitchcock: The Masterpiece Collection (Blu-ray)

All I know is this is a blind buy for me as I have been wanting several of these films on Blu-ray for a while. The Birds was one of the titles I wanted to see on Blu-ray since we first started talking about the format.

A Few Words About While we wait for A few words about...™ Lawrence of Arabia -- in 4k/UHD Blu-ray

Forgive me. What is the supposed length of the "fully restored" balcony scene between Lawrence and Allenby that was just referred too? Also does the entire "balcony scene" exist as a deleted scene or in any other viewable form that one can see if it does not make it into the Blu-ray version?

A Few Words About A few words about...™ Tora Tora Tora -- in Blu-ray

Tora Tora Tora is hardly boring for me as well as I was well familiar with the historical story and background. But I can understand how some can certainly take it that way. But to me a historical film is like a science fiction film in the way of being set in a different place and time. If the...
