Had written this yesterday, then forced to revise today.

RIP, Roger.
Hey, guys, long time no see... I was fooling around with a very old DVD of STANDING THE SHADOWS (still very much wanting a BD of that release!) - it included a semi-HD copy of the film on the second disc, which due to DRM won't play any longer. I was digging in, and found this gem from Amir (you...
I think you guys would be interested in this: http://twitchfilm.com/2013/01/gorber-talks-to-guillermo-del-toro---part-1.html That's part one of a 5 part, 13,000 word interview with Guillermo del Toro, talking about, well, all sorts of things.
FINALLY allowed to talk about this stuff publicly.

loving the diversity of everyone's frames - It may be bastardly of me to say, but frankly I think mine's the one I'd have picked from all the ones we've seen...:)
meh, I couldn't get mine to work that way, most seem to be holding them up to light and taking cameraphone pics. I scanned mine, then cropped in the (2 second/crappy) cam pic.
The FS/BB prices =will= go up by next Tuesday, and they're very limited in quantity at the stores. I'd pick one up asap.
You drive to Ottawa to see the thing, and are worried about $5-10?
You'd think so, but it's more comical than that...
I bought it at the local Best Buy, but then noticed their anti-theft protection cuts into the box. I had spent some bonus dollars there on the set, so it made the most sense financially (alas, the review copy I got was "only" the two disc).
I...
...you can see given the near definitive nature of that shot that I figured they'd cheated and only picked a few key scenes. I was just lucky, I guess. :)
...just for the record, the girl had a headset, I could hear the projectionist yelling that the "print" was broken and there was no picture.
I did not sit down until the guy in the booth got it, which is why the film started up again and the lights finally dimmed.
But, yeah, good times...
Awesome. Great scene, yet I see what it wasn't used in full. Fabulous.
Just watched Grover Crisp and co. talking about the restoration - kinda love that they're shooting the EPK stuff with an F65. What delightful overkill, perfect for this project
I got the "NO PRISONERS!" shot with the purple flag in the BG and framed Omar/Peter - it's too perfect, I'm assuming there's a super limited that they chose from, and that we all got the same.
About to watch the Balcony scene for the first time.
Booya.
PS. If you've seen SKYFALL already (and...
Tribute isn't showing Empress Walk at all, randomly.

The projection for them all is 2K - as a back-and-forth with Grover Crisp confirmed, the DCP is...
In case you want free stuff, you have a chance to win PATTON - http://filmfest.ca/2012/11/02/chance-to-win-a-copy-of-patton-on-blu/
On behalf of those that bought it already in smudged form, I thought you guys would like the opportunity.
Ah, I thought I posted it here...
1) No 4K in Ontario. Period. That's from Cineplex Head office. 4Ks being reserved for likes of SKYFALL
2) Best venue seems to be Empress Walk, at least in terms of screen size
A real shame, particularly brutal given the nature of this "anticipation" thread, and what it represents. He'll never receive his copy now, or ever again be able to see this film, and that downright sucks.
Best to his family and friends.
