Not sure at this point, Doug, but we can only hope. A full restoration may be prohibitively expensive since the 35mm print I rescued has gone completely PINK! The music track on the release version is so low as to be almost ineffective. Terrible injustice to Rozsa.
It's Rex McGee, and I'm happy to report that Bavaria Media is working with AMPAS to restore and/or include the deleted scenes from FEDORA on the U.S./Olive Blu ray release. Robert Fischer's documentary, SWAN SONG, is an extraordinary record of the history of Billy's last great film.
On Amazon, the aspect ratio of the LAWRENCE OF ARABIA Ultimate Edition ($68) is listed at 2.20:1.
On the newly announced 2-disc version ($19), the aspect ratio is listed at 2:35:1.
I assume it's the same transfer. They both are being released on November 13. Is this discrepancy an Amazon...
Thanks, Tony. I just saw yet a newer Blu ray release at Walmart for $14.96 -- just the movie -- with a white cover with red title letters, with a brand new ISBN. Is that the "fixed" version?
What on earth is going on with Cary Grant's horizontally-striped shirt in the early sequences??!! It's flashing like a neon sign! Vibrating colors, purple splotches all over his shirt -- but JUST HIS SHIRT!!
Have I got a bad disc? Everything else looks stunning as you say. This can't be right!
