Just to update this, the hiss in the audio I fixed by playing with the audio options on the Bluray player's settings menu. The static in the video I havent noticed much more of it, I think that it is just because of the cheap pos bluray player. (get what you pay for). If I ever see it again...

So I'm going to buy the 508 and the UP-A1 iPod dock. On accessories4less it comes out to $320 after that crazy shipping. Or I found another site, TigerDirect where I can get both brand new instead of refurbished for $348 after shipping. Worth the $28 to go new?
