The first Pixar movie I've legitimately disliked. The original film was my previous pick for the weakest Pixar movie, but at least that film had some nice morals about slowing down and enjoying life, all of which are rudely shoved aside for frenetic, disturbingly violent action sequences and...
Not to be rude or anything, but I can't imagine any adult giving a crap about direct-to-DVD Disney sequels. I haven't watched one of them (the Fox & The Hound sequel that got bundled with the original on Blu-Ray is nothing more than a coaster as far as I'm concerned). If you have kids that like...
I was actually considering buying a Subway kid's meal just to get the coupon, but I was afraid people would look at me funny. Maybe I'll swing by my local Subway before I hit BB on Tuesday and see if I can nab a coupon.
It's technically only good for the 4-disc set, but so was the $5 coupon for Tangled earlier this year, and I managed to use it at BB for the 2-disc version with no questions asked, so fingers crossed. ;)
Nice to see The Lion King 2-disc set being only $19.99. With the $5 Disney coupon and the $7.50 down payment I made at BB to get the cool steel case, I'll end up getting this for under ten bucks.
I have this. Great, region-free release. The film has never looked and sounded better (and the inclusion of Paul Schrader's original screenplay is a big plus).
There's no way in HELL the gay "subtext" in Freddy's Revenge was unintentional. The movie practically rubs your face in it. Not that there's anything wrong with that... ;)
I have this pre-ordered at Amazon (for their very nice price of $9.99), and am looking forward to revisiting it. I really enjoyed the film back in the 90's, but am double excited to see it restored to Del Toro's original intentions.
Well, that doesn't explain why they haven't re-instated them for the DVD or (apparently) Blu-Ray, or why the new shot is still in the current theatrical reissue. Or why the new animation looks so HORRIBLE compared to the original shot.
