I watched "Hondo" then. I believe that the showing may have been triggered by a 3D Super Bowl commercial in 1989 sponsord by Diet Coke. Buy Coke and get the glasses. There was a spark of 3D interest the probably started by "Captain Eo."
"Tobor the Great!" 1954. Tobor, robot cleverly spelled backward, look like a robot in front of a local HVAC store and made from a variety of vents, ducts etc,
I have both the Blu-ray & the DVD of “20,000 Leagues.” The Blu-ray has no extras while that DVD has many. The movie was restored a few years before the Blu-ray and new Release Print struck for an anniversary showing.
You're right. I based my assumption on an article I read that lead me to believe that the library was being sold as a single entity. I did some research today and am now more confused. Thanks for the correction.
Here is something to think about: ATT sells Warner’s catalog to Discovery+,and Discovery + removes films from the Warner catalog from TCM. Draw your own conclusions. I hope I’m wrong.
Considering all of great film in the Paramount library their current picks for their premier series is (for me) very odd. How are these choices mage? A mystery.
Golden Harvest chief in $101m row
Per the South China Morning Post in 1999:

Golden Harvest boss Raymond Chow Ting-hsing has been accused of flouting a $101 million loan deal with Chase...
Thanks. Where then does HDR come into play? Are 2 masters created? It would seem risky to have HDR baked into the master only to have to remove it if and when improved technology arrives and I know it will.
What is the source of this information regarding burned vs pressed discs. I am suspicious of the veracity of such a claim, but would like to read more from a reputable source.
Years ago I read a few early Perry Mason pulps. The first is ”The Cat with the Velvet Claws.”
Perry was always a lawyer in the novels that I read. He wasn’t a stickler for rules and refs. The novels were so popular they immediately started a series of movies which I enjoyed being a fan of...
Regarding the intermission in Taza: per 3dfilmarchive.com
“BONUS QUESTION: Why do 1950's 3-D movies have an intermission?
All Golden Age 3-D features had a built-in intermission point around the 50 minute mark. This point was known to the creative team during production so the scripts were...
I read the book, saw the movie, bought the LP soundtrack, purchased the DVD and Blu-Ray read the book again, and soon I will buy yet another Blu-ray. Did I mention that I like the film?
It is a great film. I saw it upon release and have seen it many times since. For the readers out there it is a film adaptation of the Edward Abbey novel The Brave Cowboy which is a great read. I remember being energized after seeing this and recognizing it as an adult themed movie, something...
Nice review. I can at last stop buying this film. I have the Laser Disc, the DVD and the new Blu-ray. One of my favorites. Gorgeous! My Dad called me to watch this every time it was on TV. As a kid I was unaware it was a color movie.
While that is true I believe that without support for physical media the choices will evaporate. My point is that we should support physical media as best we can. Support what you love. I realize, as well, that at this time in history discs are a low priority and money might be better used by...
I was born in '48 and prefer that logo. It’s classic, like me. The new logo seems fit for cartoons or other studio ephemera. It looks like somethhhing a student in photoshop could knock out in 15 minutes. Shameful!
I, like 20 to 30 million homes have internet with less than 10 mbps and often less than 3 due to my “rural”location. Physical media is my best option. I will not Buy what I cannot touch. I am a fan of extra content which is rare and sparse on streaming platforms.
It is a fascinating documentary on many levels. To see the crude camera that was used to film such classics as "Intolerance" along with footage from the film gives me a new respect for was these men accomplished. I enjoyed seeing Kevin Brownlow as well. He seemed to radiate excitement and...
I agree. This is a crucial time for physical media. A purchase is, in fact,a vote for the type of media and content that you are willing to buy. It is the only way that I can demonstrate my passion for restorations, pressings of difficult to find films , 3D etc. if you have the money then don’t...
This is a wonderful film. My impression from a prior theater presentation is that ithe film was soft looking, much like the “Great Train Robbery” and other films of that era. Am I mistaken?
I am unaware of any MOD Blu- rays Do such items exist outside of pirated versions. Do such items exist...
