I'm just recording the Maverick series on Encore Westerns, as I recorded the entire Rifleman, Bat Masterson, and Cimarron Strip series. I have kinda given up hope that the studios will ever release the fine old westerns. I'm going to gear up for Cheyenne too, and hope that Encore will soon...
I've only seen the pilot, but it is different from LOTG. It is only one man who is small, and the story takes place on Earth. Marshall Thompson, I believe, is the hero, who shrunk accidently due to some kind of experiment gone wrong. He works as a government agent who uses his tiny size to...
I don't know if I can agree with this. I honestly think that Cheyenne, Maverick, Lawman, 77 Sunset Strip, Hawaiian Eye, Surfside Six, Sugarfoot, Bronco, Colt .45, and Bourbon Street Beat are all potentially very viable series if just given a chance.
I'm surprised no one has mentioned The Execution of Private Slovik with Martin Sheen (1974) and The Legend of Lizzie Borden with Elizabeth Montgomery (1975). One other classic comes to mind as well, Sweet Hostage, again with Martin Sheen and Linda Blair (1975)
Well, that pretty much answers my questions about their other old shows: 77 Sunset Strip, Hawaiian Eye, Surfside 6, Sugarfoot, Cheyenne, etc. :frowning:
Any updates? I can't get back in. I was initially in, didn't even get to ask a question, then pinged out, and can't get back in. This is extremely disappointing.
I'm in for The Man from UNCLE, M Squad, Route 66 Season 2, the not listed Disney's Dr. Syn, the Scarecrow of Romney Marsh, and the rumored, but not confirmed Laramie.
My hopes (which will likely go largely or totally unrealized) are: 77 Sunset Strip Surfside Six Hawaiian Eye Lawman Sugarfoot Cheyenne (complete the series) Maverick (complete the series) Ben Casey St. Elsewhere (continue or complete the series) Thriller Laramie The Virginian...
For some of the older Disney enthusiasts here, I read somewhere that Disney is going to release "Dr. Syn, the Scarecrow of Romney Marsh" sometime this fall. In fact, I think I read it here.
I can see your argument, but can't agree that WB has been fantastic in getting good product (77 Sunset Strip, Maverick, Cheyenne, Hawaiian Eye, Bronco, Sugarfoot, Surfside Six, Lawman, Bourbon St. Beat, etc) out.
Mr. Harris, do you have any news on the possible restoration of John Wayne's Director's Cut of the Alamo? I read that the original print was found in London, I believe, but that they weren't sure they could salvage it.
