Well recently the BBC adapted the remaining three books into three very good radio series. They attempt to reconcile the events of the books and the second radio series...fairly well too!
I think you're right. From the reviews on DVDTimes, it seems the transfers are quite hit-and-miss. Some are better, some are worse. Which is a cryin shame, especially since they're not available individually!
Went to this the other day. Spent most of the time not watching the film. I must say i went in under the misapprehension that it was going to be scary, not just some 2hour gore fetish fullfilment. I guess i'm not desensitised enough. And i'm 19! Sufficed to say, they run out of plot after 20...
Checked a transcript of the film online (http://www.script-o-rama.com/movie_s...ranscript.html) and the word 'edgy' isn't there. That's not a definitive answer, but the guy who transcribed it says its from "the screenplay and viewings of the Brando version", so it looks like the word was never...
Really looking forward to this too. Is it just me or am I looking forward to more films recently than I used to in the past? I hope the trend continues!
I got out some of the 'Original Originals' today to see if the effects were as bad as everyone seems to think. And yes, you have the Enterprise jerking sideways randomly in the opening credits, the re-used shots, etc. But you know what, I don't care. I don't try to apply 21st century standards...
The problem with releasing these, I reckon, is the very nature of the programmes themselves. They're proceedurals with little emphasis on character, and are very episodic. So an episode from a first season tends to be not much different than an eighth season episode, or whatever, so there's not...
The BBC did a series called 'Space' a few years ago. Can't remember much about it, like whether it had a lot of CGI or whatnot, but I do remember it getting good reviews. Of course its the BBC, so what do you expect. I'm sure you'd be able to find out much more about it on t'internet. Patrick...
For me recently was the second-last episode of Season Two of Rescue Me. First we get a really vicious scene of domestic abuse involving the lesbians, and then, when we thought that nothing could top that, BAM they kill Denis Leary's kid with a drunk driver. Very depressing.
Just to get things even murkier, this is what wikipedia has to say: "In late 2005, Curtis voiced criticism of the film Brokeback Mountain, stating that he had no intention of seeing it. Many found this ironic, considering Curtis' participation in the documentary The Celluloid Closet, as well as...
Will they ever just release the film, for cryin' out loud! I'm gay myself and couldn't care if this is homophobic or not - i've got more important things to worry about than Cruising! Some people should just learn to lighten up and not to take everything so personally, and studios shouldn't...
