The BD is very good considering that it was released in 2007. I scanned several 70mm frames at 8K some time ago and there´s indeed room for improvement.

I see the same DNR on my 120" screen and my 24" monitor.

Well, I´ll claim it: it´s over-processed and over-scrubbed, and it doesn´t look like film. Certeainly not Patton, but after releasing something like The Sound of Music, I find it an outrage. And it´s in no way related to the ultraresolution process.

I agree, the problem is the movement, not the screen caps: if done properly, they look exactly as if we were pressing "Pause", I´ve done comparisons so many times. Its just that we can´t be sure about the content of the entire BD by checking 1/24 th fraction of a second. Anyway, I still think...

Does anybody know why they scanned a new interpositive instead of the original negative? I guess the resulting image would be better. And as far as I know, it´s been made in other films.

I have no doubt Snow White looks great on blu-ray, but if I compare it to Gone with the wind and The wizard of Oz in terms of grain, I can´t see any resemblance: I can´t see the grain in Snow White, so my question is: why haven´t I heard any complains yet? What would everyone...
