Why am I saying all this? Why all the trouble? Some people question screenshots, so the least they can do is to see it for themselves. But do it right: a fair apples to apples and oranges to oranges comparison. And if they do a fair comparison and still don´t see the difference, then it´s fine...
I usually avoid posting because as a non-native English speaker I have difficulties expressing properly and engaging in a discussion is a PITA. But here we go.
The disc screenshots are all mine except for the first one. The screenshots from the web-dl are from the internet. Unfortunately I...
I´m the guy who posted the comparison between the disc and the streaming version, somewhere else. Here it is:

Arrow is a big improvement over TT. The TT image has been sharpened. Not the kind of unsharp masking which was heavily used with DVDs, and created -among other things - unpleasant halos by sharpening the edges of objects. This kind of USM is easily recognizable and obvious. There is another...
The BD is very good considering that it was released in 2007. I scanned several 70mm frames at 8K some time ago and there´s indeed room for improvement.
Sharp eyes? Watching a video at a distance of 18 inches from a 24” computer monitor? A monitor which I usually use to edit images ( light DNR among other filters) in Photoshop? If I didn’t see the DNR, then using monitors for photo-editing would be worthless, and then I´d have to connect the...
Well, I´ll claim it: it´s over-processed and over-scrubbed, and it doesn´t look like film. Certeainly not Patton, but after releasing something like The Sound of Music, I find it an outrage. And it´s in no way related to the ultraresolution process.
I agree, the problem is the movement, not the screen caps: if done properly, they look exactly as if we were pressing "Pause", I´ve done comparisons so many times. Its just that we can´t be sure about the content of the entire BD by checking 1/24 th fraction of a second. Anyway, I still think...
After reading Mr. Harris´s words, I´ve checked the screencaps at blu-ray.com and I can only stare at them in disbelief. Mr. Harris, I respect your opinions very much and my eyes have always agreed with your "A few words about", but do you really think this blu-ray is that terrible? I have no...
Great article. Haya Harareet...whatever happened to her? I know she married Jack Clayton, but then she suddenly vanished and was never seen again (on the screen).
I´m puzzled because some surround effects that were on the previous DVD have been removed for the BD, (e.g. slaves scene at the beginning as Demille is speaking or the sound of water in the basket scene) and I haven´t seen any remarks about it
I hope not. The blu-rays look far better than these scans. They just don´t look like film, Universal applied some digital trickery, that´s it. Don´t take my images seriously. I didn´t upload them to prove that this edition is terrible and it´s not representative of the filmmaker´s vision. On the...

I have some BTTF III frames from a 35mm print that I´d like to share with you. I thought someone might want to have them. I scanned them at 4K using a professional scanner with color management and a hardware calibrated professional monitor. The images represent the frames accurately. They are...
Sebastian, thanks again for your time and comments. I really appreciate them.
Regarding the comparison English track vs. French track vs. 40th anniversary DVD : I was wrong in my last post. I took some samples from the 40th anniversary DVD, the lossy 5.1 French track and the lossy 5.1...
I´m afraid Joe Caps is right. The more I listen to it, the more disappointed I am. I´ve just listened to the 45th anniversary CD and definitely sounds better. The orchestra seemed much crisper, closer to me. The English track compared to the CD sounds so muffled. It´s weird, because the vocals...
First of all, I agree with what Ronald Epstein has said. I think Fox have done an excellent job and I´m very happy with this transfer.
I also sampled that scene and I can´t tell whether they cut off the high end or not, but it seems as if the percussion had been placed further during the...
Does anybody know why they scanned a new interpositive instead of the original negative? I guess the resulting image would be better. And as far as I know, it´s been made in other films.
I have no doubt Snow White looks great on blu-ray, but if I compare it to Gone with the wind and The wizard of Oz in terms of grain, I can´t see any resemblance: I can´t see the grain in Snow White, so my question is: why haven´t I heard any complains yet? What would everyone...
Thank you, at least now I know it will be released some time in the future in decent condition. You´re right, for example Divisa Home Video has the rights in Spain, and of course, the DVD is awful.
