Seriously. I was in the 9th grade when that movie came out and the next Monday all these girls were like, 'yeah, we saw his weiner haha we saw it.' And I was like...hmm--tell me more. Then the same thing happened when The Blue Lagoon came out a few months later. I wasn't allowed to see R-rated...
I think that male nude scene caused a stir back in the day. Because if you think about it, there's really not much else going on in this movie. The murder subplot wasn't exactly action-packed. But I literally remember people going on and on about that 2-second shot of Richard's gear.
Watched Neverending Story blu yesterday. Not sure but I think it's a 2013 release. I was thinking about its 4k potential but I dunno...it's loaded with dense process shots and all those swirling smoke effects. Might look worse in 4k. This old blu itself looks pretty good though.
Hear hear. She was just trying to get attention for herself. If anything, the endless internet pundits of Youtube today are 10X worse than the Pauline Kaels of this world. And that's all they want--clicks.
I have the big blu-ray set from ages ago. Personally I would love to see the first movie on 4k. It's a time-honored classic and deserves the royal treatment. But the rest are just...sequels. And don't have a lot of replay-ability for me, and sounds like a lot of other forum members.
We'll see...
I was always rooting for Thunderbean to get this title, but Kino will be just as good. I don't know why this movie, particularly, has been such a whale all these years.
Honestly, I don't go fancy. I just keep mine in regular comic book bags. The steelbook fits in fine and you can wrap it around. I also use it for dvds that I've had signed.
The Exorcist 4K packaging was so bad...in fact, I was going to a fan event right after the 4K came out and I was gonna have Linda Blair sign it, but then I thought--nah. She signed this instead:
The bigger the company, the less chance there is for someone to really care about its assets. That's why Disney doesn't know wtf to do with Star Wars and Marvel right now.
I've actually been wondering about that for years. Thank you for clearing that up. In the past when this came up, the forum members were convinced that the negative had turned to pink, we didn't know much more. I applaud your efforts and hope this progresses.
This comes out in a few days. Do you think I should hold out hope for a 5 movie collection? They seemed to have no problem putting out the 4-movie pack a few months ago, even tho' Disney is not known for compilation sets. Has anyone heard of an eventual 5-film collection?
I think the whole movie was miscast except for Juanita Hall. And the obvious problem there is they didn't let her do her own vocals, which just kills "Bali Hai." Her own vocals would have been just fine.
I don't like Brazzi at all; may I suggest Louis Jourdan?? I don't see him playing...
