Ron, any chance of posting the specs for what they are offering? I just lost my microwave, probably my drier, and 4 lights to a bad electrical storm. Fortunately my kids know the "storm drill" and had all of the PCs and the tv unplugged. First time I've ever taken an electrical hit that...
Aye, the cat sniper image has special resonance for me. Still waiting for my peed on HK 7200 to get out of the shop. All cats are snipers- whether you know it now or know it later....
Man....a week....I'm seriously jealous. I'm starting to crawl the walls here waiting on mine. All I have is dangling speaker wire to look at.... Hope it all works out!
John, the device is called a DAL150. The information on the HK website is not accessing for some reason- but here is the link to the 7200 and it's peripheal equipment- like the DAL 150 http://www.harmankardon.com/product_...sjump=&#active You can get a DAL150 off of ebay for $15 right now...
I don't know if this means anything....but I don't think the 7200 has regular DPL- only DLP II. Don't know what that means...but I threw it out anyway.
Yeah, I'm seriously looking forward to the experience! When I was a free wheeling bachelor I had a Luxman stereo system- which was very high end at the time. But marriage and three children rearranged my financial priorities. It's hard to justify $1500 for a receiver when you need to buy baby...
Yeah- it's my very first one :) I had $1000 and decided that I was going to finally get a surround sound set up. I'm 42 and all I've ever used was what ever was internal to the TV. Well...call it a midlife crisis, but I decided that I was going to finally do the home theater bit. I...
Well, my 7200 has been in the shop for over a month now. But it's my fault it's there- so I can't blame HK. The repair guy needed to order a part- seems to take a while. I'm not sure if the delay is the repar shop, or HK's fault. So I'll remain neutral. It should cost me less than $200...
The first HK authorized service dealer I took my HK AVR to refused to even look at my baby- the "water damage" was cat pee. They told me I was wasting their time and my money. Well, this is a list price $2000 machine- surely it was worth at least a look? Anyway, I found another HK service...
They are refurbs direct from HK-JBL. They look fine- can't wait to hear them! I had to mount them on the ceiling, which is a little less than ideal- but they were certainly easy to install. I'm glad to hear the positive words from you. I must say, I'm getting pretty anxious to get my receiver...
Okay, pictures are finally up. Took me a while to get it to work right.... Thanks for the feedback Dorian. I guess I qualified the N26s because they were not what I originlly had planned. I actually bid on them at Ebay and won them for $45 shipping included. I didn't think I was going to win...
Is there no one else that can look at it? My HK had "water" damage and hopefully all it needs is a replacement part. It's in the shop now. At least your wife is willing to let you invest in a new receiver. It's sometimes hard to spend $1000 plus family money on a "non-essential". Best of luck.
Hmmm...sorry about that, thought that I could upload photos. Guess I'll have to load them on my work web page tomorrow and provide a URL. Wrong group too, should be in Speakers and Subwoofers :frowning:
While I am waiting for my receiver to get out of the shop, I have been looking at three possible ways of setting up my fronts and my sub. I realize that I should probably try all and see which one sounds best. But while I'm waiting, I'm playing with ideas. My fronts are JBL E100s, with a SVS...
David, something that the esteemable Fred_Krampits informed me of several weeks ago: "The E20s are rear ported so you can't put them with their back to a wall." So keep this in mind if you are planning on mounting your surrounds to the wall.
Does anyone from HK read this forum? Seems that they are being mightily trashed, and would want to offer some words in defense? I know that I make all of my HT buying decisions AFTER consulting this forum. One would think that they would want to comment.....or maybe they are just too big...
Thanks Chu- I am optimistic. Though after reading this recent spate of hate mail about HKs in general, I'm just a tad bit nervous. Funny thing is that the HK switching off problem that some of the other fellows have been having with their HK sounds like the switching off problem of my 7200. Of...
" 'Pus Suchre' is actually a French term meaning 'my cat has died a horrible death' " Hmmm....well that's a close enough translation :frowning: I really do still feel bad about the cat though.....Although I must admit, the whole house has been smelling better lately.... The receiver has...
I have an HK 7200, and HK sells a USB device specifically designed to go from the PC to the receiver. I am able to listen to MP3s, etc with no problem. It all sounds pretty good to me- but I'm not an audiophile, so I might be missing something. Maybe your receiver also has such a device.
Well my ex-cat peed on my HK 7200. It stinks pretty bad. When I get it back from the repair shop, hopefully it will stink a little less. And when I plug it in and it heats up (like the space heater it is)- it will no doubt have a "warm" stink about it. Other than the cat pee problem- I like...
