I built my HT with the "if I build it, we will use theory", but it just isn't happening. I have watched about 6 movies on my setup and I feel guilty about the wasted epuipment. I am selling- SVS PB2-ISD -- SOLD!!! PSBs- I bought all these about 9 months ago. Same situation, barely used...
I heard the sapphires at my local Tweeter. They sounded pretty good from what I remember. Look on their website. The desingers have good pedigrees behind them. The sub in that package is the weak point. I don't think they will let you change it out for anything else but it doesn't hurt to...

I wouldn't worry about the boxes on your cables. They are usually gimmicks or some sort circuit to counteract a poor design. Just use good cables and heads.
Hmm, no takers on these? Throw me an offer, you might just get a great deal. I am really just looking to offset the cost of the DIY set I am building. Michael
I have decided to sell my PSB speakers and move in another direction. I have the Image 5t's in cherry and 10s's in black that were bought as blems in Jan/Feb of this year. You cannot find the blems on these. I have tried. I also have a 9c in black (not a blem) bought in Jan. I have all the...
Can you be a little more specific about the location of the prewired speakers? Are they spaced above you equally? To the front or back, side or rear? Michael
Man, I love these threads. I just wish I was as well spoken as others on the forum as I would seem more intellectual and my thoughts would have more impact. I have read several posts about this issue over the past few months. I always try and point out a few things to think about. - There...
Some would argue that using 6 identical speakers is the ideal situation. Better than using a center of a different design. If you have a place for it than it is good. It probabley needs to be placed upright, not on its side.
In general, you would like to have your center channel matched as close as possible to your mains. Speakers are usually made to work together to make up the front array. If not, you will hear a difference in the sound of things as they cross from L to R across your stage. This is also apparent...
Mike, Absolutely beautiful work on the speakers. I can't tell if you are brilliant or insane to come up with and execute that design. I bet your wife would say the later after all the work it must have been to construct. Thanks for the write up. It seems you just can't win around here...
Brad, Check out Omnimounts speaker mounts. I used a set to hang my bookshelves from the ceiling in the rear. OK so far. I'll let you know if they fall ;) . Getting up the wall will be difficult if it is an insulated wall. If not it is not a big deal. For the rear speakers I used a long...
Beautiful! Those were so impressive I got sidetracked. I was using PSB Image series speakers all around but I recently started building GR AV-3 for the front array. I have only been able to complete the AV3-s center and I am more than impressed. The clarity of the AV3 is remarkable in...
For the 7200 use the multichannel inputs as described above. You will need 6 rca lines ( or 3 pairs) to connect all of it. You will then use the 6/8 channel input (instead of dvd or cd) to listen to the hires discs. There are different 6/8 channel input configs on the 7200. Some use outboard...
Daniel- Those look great. I love the look of those feet. How stable are the mains with that design? I have a little girl and I am afraid she might push them over. Think that design will hold up to the task? Michael
Robert has a good suggestion. Plop a RPTV right in front of the fireplace and problem solved. If you need a fire, get one of those fireplace dvd's. I can see the romance kindling in front of the RPTV already.:b Michael
That is definitely a tough one. Where will you be sitting in the room ? Will you be looking directly at the fireplace or will you sit at an angle facing the tv? If you have the center channel directly above the TV, then where will you put the right main? I wouldn't ceiling mount the front...
Sorry guys, Maybe I'm reading too much into it. I remember reading a thread a while back where John and Tom/Ron were going at each other about the specs of the TC drivers they were both using. Edit: I am talking specifically about the possible damage to SVS business because of the...
See if they will let you bring them home and audition. You will find out for sure. At that price range they should allow this. Michael P.S. I love towers for music. Especially in that size room.
I am always amused at threads in which retailers take pot shots at each other. 'Leaking' out info like that (true our not) is damaging to both you guys. I would try and settle whatever grudge it is you guys have behind closed doors. Poor form I would say.
