so the wife poo-pooed the room at an angle look. But I am "allowed" to move the couch out a bit, which is what I think I am going to do, so I can at least get a speaker situated somewhere near the rear corners of the couch (without sticking out into the open space as much). What is wrong with...
yea this layout makes me cringe a bit too, especially since we moved from a place that had a much better layout. I like your idea thought and will run it by the wife as it makes way more sense (to my movie geekery). But as you know, many wives have a "vision" and I think the tv is an...
Yea I am not sure why Paradigm would change the lineup in such a confusing way. The Titan's I have do not have removeable grills but from what I can tell, are in no way similar to the ones they list on the site now as they only seem to have one tweeter and a 5 inch-ish speaker. They are...
the mini-monitor is the bigger of the speakers. The Titan v3 is from the line that is a step below the mini-monitor. I don't mind using the mini-monitors for the front ( I can build the cabinet around them - so they aren't quite so "obvious" but for the surrounds, they need to be lower profile...
well, I can place one of them to the side (room on left side of couch). But the wall on the right side it another 8 feet of so, and is open (overall floor-plan is sort of L shaped). I think I will have to do a 5.1 since the space is so limited. Like I mentioned, I can mount TO the ceiling, I...
I don't need to mount them on-wall at least on the front. How were you thinking they should be placed? I had not thought of low profile speakers like this. Maybe surface mounted on ceiling and aimed at LP (for the rear)? and what about the front? I don't think there is space next to the TV...
howdy!
I am looking for speaker recommendations. It is a little different kind of situation than I have been in before. I moved into a condo/townhouse, and am creating built-in cabinetry for the living room to house the TV and stereo equipment. Currently, I have a 60 inch Panny Viera, and will...
i'm actually looking into something similar but will really only have space for 5.1. So the ceiling speakers will work ok for that right? Unfortunately, I'm coming from a house and have stand alone speakers but won't have room for them once we move. I'm paring it to a denon with audessey, and...
problem is that she DID watch it in store, but didn't notice it (she doesn't see it watching in 3D which is the only way they display material). We're trying to burn in the tv now, so hopefully that will fix it. Otherwise I'll just have to get something else (which is too bad because I like the...
I bought a new Panny 55GT30 (well, the Best Buy GT31 "kit" - it came with 2 pairs of shutter glasses, Avatar 3D, and a Skype web video camera) and so far, so good - at least for me. Unfortunately, my wife sees the "phosphor trails" or something in most of the tv material we've watched. I don't...
jumping in on this post with a side question... I just bought a Panasonic 55GT30 last night. So far I think the picture looks pretty great (especially compared to the tv it replaced). But my wife is having issue with it, and the way she describes it, it sounds like phosphor trail/ghosting or...
I didn't look that closely at the sticker to see an expiration date. I'll check at BB. worse case scenario is I end up picking it up anyway, since I already have the DVD and HDDVD. I know i'll watch it again and would rather have it on Blu!
I was in a Sams Club yesterday and they had the blu ray of the first Michael Bay Transformers, with a sticker that read there was a $10 mail in coupon if you had previously purchased it on DVD. Does anyone know if this deal is everywhere or just a Sams Club exclusive?
well, I never did get the denon to work. I mean, it SAYS it can output to a second set of speakers, but their instruction manual is so horrible, I could never get it to work (and I'm a pretty techie guy usually). So I just hooked it up to an old receiver. I can't even get the denon to send out a...
I haven't tried the triangle option, but will try it tonight. As for the formatting, it is the fat32 format that the drive came set up as. As I mentioned, it works fine with the xbox360, so I kind of assumed that since both systems are PC based, that it should work too...
How about with USB hard drives? I've been trying to get it to recognize media on a Western Digital Passport portable drive. It actually sees the drive, but says nothing is on the drive. I know there are videos on the drive, and my XBOX 360 has no problems reading the files. I know the PS3 can...
a friend has a Panasonic BD35 and really likes it, and I have a PS3 as both game machine and Blu-Ray. Happy with the quality of it too, plus it seems way faster to load up than the BD35 does, IMHO. But I think either one and you can't go wrong.
I bought some stands at TV Stands, Entertainment Centers, Speaker Stands & Audio Racks and I'm happy with them. You can get the same stands from 100 other places online for the same price though. I had a good enough experience to pass the info along though. That's a good idea to use RG6 coax...
I found the user manual for the motorola and it is indeed a IR output to control a vcr. Soooooo is there a cheap way to just extend the signal or do I have to get one of the crazy expensive setups? or should I just keep the utility closet open every time I want to change the channel?!
I have a small wall mounted LCD in my kitchen and want to install the cable box in a closet, around the corner since the cable box is HUGE. The cable box has an IR port on the back which is something i assume that is used for this type of installation. Is there a way to just buy an extender...
Denon manuals are notoriously poorly written, and not the most consumer friendly as far as being easy to figure out. That said, they sound great, and (so far) mine has been a great performer... (I have the old 1803... upgrading soon though to another denon!)
