I have to say, these latest developments have me more excited about this film then the prior 2. I actually love the homage to The Motion Picture in the poster, and I love the trailer. Today's audience simply requires more action and explosions, though I agree that's not what Trek is about, or...
Wow.. a fascinating perspective. And certainly a sign as to why shows like Dynasty, Knots Landing, Magnum P.I., and even perhaps a Dallas would struggle in today's overly cynical world. Sure those 80's shows had angst, but what you state is correct. Today's horror films also point to a...
The re-boot of Dallas certainly ended on a Cliffhanger. The show never really recovered from the death of Larry Hagman, but it still would have been nice to get some closure.
Honestly, I told my wife I thought it was too smart of a show for TV. Plain and simple, lost in the crowd of American Idol and the like that was so hot at the time.
It wasn't really a cliffhanger, but the rush to end what was one of my wife's and my favorite shows of last decade "Everwood" ended up with lots of unresolved plotlines. That was a fantastic show with a great cast (Treat Williams and Gregory Smith, and big time future star Chris Pratt). We...
Man this is great fun, but there are some obscure people against obscure people sometimes, and then you throw in things like Gollum vs Jack Torrance (ouch). I know it's all relative and what's important to whom.
1. Abstain
2. Hmm.. Trammell
3. V
4. Grrr... Gollum I guess
1. Michael Myers
2. Geez... some of these are hard. Eeny Meeny Miney Mo. I guess Mary Poppins
3. And this one I don't care. Lol. Abstain
4. Oskar Schindler
I gave up on Samsung at this point. I put photos on Facebook on their page showing the photos of the TV just informing people what their SUHD TV's look like "in spec" and Samsung abruptly deleted my posts. So there you have it. I really never wanted to do this with this fantastic dealer I...
I purchased in mid-November a Samsung UN65JS8500 during the good deals around Black Friday. I also purchased a 5 year extended service plan/warranty from the dealer at the same time. I believe the warranty is guaranteed through an outside vendor, but the purchase was made from the dealer at the...
This is fun.. sorry I missed the first votes but, other then Sparrow, the ones I would have selected were victorious anyway.
My votes for this one:
1. Bickle
2. Quint
3. Luke Jackson
4. Plissken
So it's been tax season, I'm an accountant and I've just been entirely too busy to deal with this TV issue until now. I was watching Amazing Spider-Man 2 on blu-ray on this TV and this is what it looks like. So I've re-opened a ticket through Samsung. I'm also trying to get my dealer...
You are entitled to your opinion about Batman in that vain, though from remembering my comic reading as a youngster, Batman was generally good. But why I didn't respect him so much was that he he sometimes veered outside of normal societal accepted standards. Sometimes for Batman, two wrongs...
Touche. The tone of the two movies brings out totally different viewpoints for sure. Of course, there is a real darkness to Batman in BvS, a dark cynicism. Yet, we get to see these characters learning from one another. But especially Superman is the teacher in this movie. You know, I truly...
This is of course the argument always made by their foes, though normally with ulterior motives. Lord makes it in his case in Supergirl against the Kryptonians (and Supergirl at least early on in the series), of course Luthor, and Batman himself makes it in BvS . They argue we don't know their...
Yep... Green Arrow, Green Lantern, Wonder Woman.. doesn't mean they use them in that sense. Besides, most heroes do not have the incredible sense of morality that Superman, Spider-Man, and Captain America have.
I've never seen a Patty Jenkins film, but I do wonder if Wonder Woman will be the driving force behind these next films. I think, if nothing else, America might be hungry for a heroine. Disney has largely ignored Black Widow. Of course she's part of Avengers, but Warner's could really take...
It's a mystery how one goes from one of the best to one of the least interesting at least throughout the course of their career. But that has been the trajectory for me as well. I sat in pain through Titanic and Avatar both remembering some of the genius he brought us with Terminator, The...
OMG Yes. But my opinion of him has really taken a hit since the mid 90's with Titanic and Avatar, and I wonder if he's even capable at this point of doing something that interesting or imaginative.
An interesting article that should gives us perspective.
