Albert thanks for taking the time in righting the detailed post and also a thanks goes to the others for their replies. I will be rereading them and will be looking at the B&K also to replace the Para that I have set aside. I don't have a dealer who is willing to let me do an in house demo even...
Albert, I hadn't concidered the B&K because I heard they were on the warmer side and I'm looking to get something that will be alittle more on the revieling side and show all the fine details. If you feel the B&K might fit the bill for what I'm looking for I'm all ears and would be willing to...
I'm looking at getting a pre-pro and have narrowed the search to the Rotel, Para and Anthem. I'm looking for input to those who have been able to compare these to each other and what the pros and cons are as the nearest dealer for any of these is 70mi all in different directions and hopefully...
I had the 200 Panny as my first reciever and I was and still am happy with the performance from it in my first HT consisting of Polk speakers (Rti70's, Csi-40, Rti38's and SVS PB2+). I still have it (in storage) and still do recommend it to someone on a budget. As for the others you mentioned I...
Tod, Rob and I have the same setup except I have 38's in the rear on (A) and 40's on (B) running from a Denon 3803 and I would highly recomend the Polks, they have a really good sound and blend very well together. My use is mostly HT and enjoy the experiance each and evey time. The SVS PB2+ has...
Ron just wanted to drop you a note and say thank you (SVS)for being so "ANAL". I as many of others here and elsewhere who have bought and recieved your product have never been happier. I'm one happy PB2+ owner. Dave
If you really feel the need to upgrade I would go with Polk RTI-70's for front but if you are happy with the 38's no need to change and would not change the Polks at all they are very good speakers. Dave
I did the freq. sweep with the sub too loud one time and stopped the sweep before it was done, the sonics were just too much and every room in the house was shaking, I almost couldn't see straight I felt my eyes starting to shake. I couldn't imagin what was going on in your house. Dave
I say go for it and don't wait long. I use the same speakers 2-70s'front, 40 fornt center, 2-fx-30's side, 2-38's rear I also have an extra 40 waiting for another 40 also for the rear so I can A/B the 38's and 40's for the rear. I'm using a Denon 3803 7.1 and the sound is excellant. If you can...
I run... Denon 3803 2--Rti-70's LF&RT front 1--csi-40 center front 2--fx-30's side 2--rti-38's rear also have 1 extra csi-40 and wanting another 40 for a/b in the rear 1--SVS PB2+ sub The polks are very clean and dollar for dollar IMO can't be beat. Have excellant sound. Dave
If I'm not mistaken even if you could go to Ron's (I think he is the on there) he has the B4 (that is what he told me when I ordered mine) and that just wouldn't be a fair audition comparison no matter what. Dave
Do the 8's they make for real good HT/music fronts, better then the 10's because of the 2-mids. I have a polk HT set-up with 70's as fronts and love-em. Dave
The 3802 is discontinued and will never be in stock again from what I've been told. I did that deal when it was for $648.06 a couple months ago and have never been happier after I got it set-up. Good luck guys Dave
Get the SVS and you will never be sorry. Which SVS are you looking at? Mine is the PB2+ and I have always been impressed with it. It eagerly takes all I can give it and has yet to even burp and does it cleanly. If you are to get a 10% discount that is all the more reason to get one, I was happy...
I along with Ed have the PB2+ and I can tell you that I've listened to quite a few before I setteled on this one. It is really that good and clean. You really get more then you pay for with SVS. When it comes to exact numbers Ed has that know-how and test hardware to backup the claims. What I...
I wouldn't sweat it, your in collage and it is a time to learn and make life long friends. Granted your speaker has some small cosmetic damage but that is all it is. I'm sure that he feels bad but accidents happen. If you came over my house and knocked something into my SVS PB2+ and knicked it I...
Brake-out or buy the movies K-19 or U571 and get ready for some aggresive felt bass. Your jaw will hit the floor. When I recieved My PB2+ those 2 movies still impress the hell out of me and the sub still gives me woodies:D
I have had my Denon for a couple months now and couldn't be happier. It pushes my setup very well. I have seen here some have had to wait for theirs, hopefully 6th Ave has that straightened out, but rest assured you will recieve the 3803 as the 3802 is no longer being made (discontinued)from...
Congrats on the 3803. Sorry but I should have told you how to go about getting the deal glad you figured it out. The 3803 has alot to offer and will drive the Polks very well the hardest ones in your set to drive will be the 10's they have only one-mid and 2-woffers and with a ex-sub and all...
order the 3803 from 6th ave (online) I got it for $648.06 delivered. If you order the 3802 they will upgrade you to the 3803 at the price of the 3802. I have the 3803 with Polk speakers (2-rti-70's front, 2-Csi-40's center front & rear, 2-Rti-38's rear, 2-fx-30's side and SVS Pb2+ sub. Dave
I would go with the Denon 3803 it's 110x7 that is what I got through 6th ave (online) for 648.06 delivered. The speakers I'm running are Polks(2-rti70's front, 2-rti38's rear, 2-csi-40's center front&rear, 2-fx30's side, SVS pb2+sub). The combo sounds great for both theater and audio. Dave
The Denon 3803 $648.06 at (6TH AVE.com) I have also seen them have the Denon 4803 open box for $1295, and the 5803 open box for alittle over $2000, all at 6TH AVE. For being new to HT I have and would recomend the 3803. If you do want the 3803 order the 3802 and you will get the 3803 in it's...
I have spent the better part of the day fiddleing around with the set-up and I noticed two things. The sat. cable has a ground wire not hooked to anything and the set-up in the Panny DVD player has a on/off DVD video switch and it was off. With it turned off it will still play DVD-A and all...
The skipping you mentioned is probably the mating of the two layers on the track every reciever does it one way or another some better some worse. It is more of a slight pause then a skip. As for your other issue check your main settings and see if you can change it to sub-titles off. Dave
Ground loop was the reply I gotten from another forum and was told to try a cheeter plug, but nobody where I live knows what I'm refering too, is that the name of it or just what it is refered to as? When I went to CC they had a Monster Cable outlet box they were using to filter the power for...
I have bought Denon 3803 and ever since I have hooked it up I have been having a humming sound comming from my speakers when no sound is being played. It is a slight humm but can be heard from my chair accross the room (25ft), when I turn on the TV the humm gets slightly louder. The other night...
