the purchase place field is a selection box of sorts. you have to add the places through the "Edit Retailers" option in the "Tools" menu. Then when you add a new title you have to use the little down arrow menu thing to select the appropriate retailer.

I think DVD-9 discs also have a higher rate of failure vs. a dual sided DVD-10. Sure it's a hassle to have to flip the disc over at some point. They're probably just trying to cut down on manufacturing costs as they probably aren't making too much profit on the show versus other shows.
