All this talk of moving furniture...haha The accuracy of the NHT's is mindblowing. While they may not play quite as deep, they certainly do sound better within their range. 24hz isn't exactly laughable...still very deep, but it seems that 20hz is the magical number these days. -Craig
haha. nice quote/exception line. I am a huge B&W fan, but I think that also makes me a huge Paradigm fan.......different enough, but you still have to herar both. The Studio's are very god speakers......excellent even. Are the NT's worth the extra $2500? No way!! are the new v3 Paradigm?? No...
Pretty crazy that as soon as you have a sub that does or doesn't perform, that you automatically have to answer the "is it set up properly?" question. Or even worse "yeah, but wait till it's broken in"....if it soundas like crap the first day, is it really going to be a dream after a week?? Whil...
I'm sure that Paradigm knows exactly what they're doing. I think they would be crazy to greatly change(improve?) an extremely successful line of speakers. I have not heard the v3's, but I have a hard time seeing them being THAT much different...if they were they might be wise to create a new...
I believe you are referring to the RSP-976, and not 966. The 976 is basically just an outdated 1066...it lacks DPL2, 7.1 capability, 5 channel stereo. Other than that you'd be hard pressed to tell a difference between the two(sound quality). The 976 would be quite an improvement over the Yammy, IMO.
Well, I think there are many questions to be asked. What is "tube sound"?is the first.....There are many good arguments for and against this....."tube" normally means smooth, ans silky......well IMO, music isn't always smooth and silky......some people don't want to hear smooth and silky, or...
I think you would be much better off going with the 602's. You will not only save quite a bit of money, but IMO, they are also better. The only disadvantage to the 602 is that it isn't shielded. You'll really have to go listen to see what you prefer. If it were me, I'd try to get 3 602's across...
See, this is evidence that you can't trust anyones ears but your own. When I was looking for speakers, I had my long list of candidates, and wanted to go to each audition, totally unbiased, and would buy whatever satisfied my liking the best. When I compared the Studio 40's, to the 602's, I...
Another brand to look at would be Cambridge Audio. Depending on budget, they have 2 models of integrated amps, as well as a couple of power amps. They are very reasonably priced, and are quite impressive. For speakers, I would be looking at B&W, PSB, Paradigm, Athena, Axiom, and a few others...
Art, While I can't comment on the Mission, I can let you know that the 302 is no longer, and has been replaced by the 303. The 303 is quite an improvement, and only a few more bucks. They have received very favourable reviews from Home Theater Magazine, and others.
