the only way i can think of how to do this would be someone who has an HTPC and can look at the actual video files. we need someone like Xylon from the avsforum! :)
i got it through xploitedcinema.com. he special ordered it for me, i think it ended up being slightly cheaper than amazon.co.uk
so, i just got this disc last week as well. on the label it says 1080i. this doesn't seem right. can someone confirm? they did a really good job on the audio though. dts-hd master audio sounds amazing! one other thing. am i missing something or are there no subtitles on the 40 minute...
DaViD, I think Stacey responded to your thread on AVS here http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=692990 and said that the samsung doesn't bob.
the 2nd one was a total disappointment, compared to the first one. it's just one long battle movie...
gone is all the plot and character development of the first movie.
count me as another one experiencing the stuttering issue. i contacted amazon to replace the disk and this is the response i got
interesting. i guess i'll have to get a refund and get my set from costco. a friend of mine got his from costco and it doesn't stutter.
here's a comparison of the different versions 207.136.67.23/film/dvdcompare/battleroyale-dc.htm (i haven't posted enough times to be allowed a url post unfortunately)
my only beef with the disc (other than my disappointment in the movie) is that it (like just about every hk dvd i've ever watched) has been incorrectly flagged as video and appears to have been converted from a pal source. this is really noticeable in thebeach landing scenes where there is a lot...
or if you're not comfortable with the Malata, you might want to check out the JVC XV-600/2. I have the 602 which uses the same chip as the Malata although it has fixed scaling instead of Malata's X-Y. The PAL conversion is excellent.
