I have the recorder you are looking at. It's the best with the dvdram disks. However it stinks with any dvdr disks I'm lucky to have 1 out of 10 come out okay regardless of the blank used including panasonics brand.:thumbsdown:

Foward shouldn't matter since most recievers allow you to set speaker distances. I.E. my onkyo is programed that my fronts are 12 ft away and my center is 10 ft away, so the center volume is automatically adjusted to compensate.
