I can confirm that GTA:VC is not 5.1 (4.0 or 4.1, not sure) and sound is not supposed to come from the center channel. EDIT: Nevermind, just read that you solved it. :p

It's simple, but are you sure the subwoofer is on on your receiver? It's possible to set it to "Off", and you won't get a signal from a test either.

I watched a couple episodes of 24 in Music mode and I still have the problem... :/ I'll try X-Files later today.
