Just FYI, I finally received a response from Parmount customer service that they are now shipping replacement 4K discs for Escape from L.A.:
Dear Customer,
Thank you for providing the requested information. We have everything we need to process your request and have passed it along to our...
I love the setting. The fuel station in the middle of nowhere seems rife with interesting story potential. I love all the new ship designs. They look quite Star Wars-y. I hate the main character, but hopefully we'll see some growth from him soon. The bottom line is that it's Star Wars so...
Spielberg has been my favorite director ever since Ben Gardner's head came floating out of his ruined boat and scared the bejeezus out of me as a youngster. Jaws is my favorite movie of all time, Raiders is just about perfect in every respect, the opening night viewing of Saving Private Ryan is...
I saw it last night. Still trying to formulate my thoughts, but I'm pretty sure it will end up as one of my favorite Tarantino flicks. The ensemble cast is excellent, with Walton Goggins stealing the show. The runtime seems long, but for me the movie moved at a good pace, even if most of that...
Order 66: In the event of Jedi officers acting against the interests of the Republic, and after receiving specific orders verified as coming directly from the Supreme Commander (Chancellor), GAR commanders will remove those officers by lethal force, and command of the GAR will revert to the...
I just got through reading the Order 66 Republic Commando novel, and I'm pretty sure that the order was not "hypnotically imprinted" or anything like that. Some of the soldiers were just more inclined to follow orders than others. I highly recommend all of the Republic Commando books. They...
Wow! Filled out the online form and submitted my address yesterday, and got a corrected disc today. That is service (it helps to be within 50 miles of the distribution location as well). :) Thanks for taking care of this issue Disney!
I had this issue the first time I put in the disc, but after a shutdown/restart the disc loaded fine. Like the other two pixar discs, there were a couple of seconds of loading screen followed by the menu.
I'd say it had more to do with Hearst's men seeing the gun in her hand and trying to stop her before she got a chance to shoot Hearst than a possible ID.
It's interesting to see how Al treats Langrishe differently from the rest of his crew (and the rest of the camp for that matter). He treats Langrishe as an equal and even smiles once in a while. It would suggest that Langrishe is not the "dandy" he appears to be and is just as tough as Al...
My biggest beef with Last Crusade is the way Sallah and Marcus are turned into bumbling idiots. The filmmakers should have just used different characters because the Sallah and Marcus in Last Crusade bear no resemblance to the great characters in Raiders. Last Crusade is also a much softer...
I was five or so upon release and my parents took me to see it at a late showing at the local theater. I loved every minute of it. The climax of the film scared the everloving shit out of me, but I was always the kind of kid that loved to be scared. Raiders is still one of my favorites to...
1. Wendy L. - I have seen the entire series of Buffy - I plan on watching all 7 seasons - I would like to rewatch Angel when S3 of Buffy is over. 2. Eric Meske. - I have seen the entire series of Buffy - I plan on watching all 7 seasons - I would like to rewatch Angel when S3 of Buffy is over.
I caught the replay Friday night and I wasn't overly impressed. I think the potential is there, so I'll keep watching. I admit that my opinion may have been clouded by the friggin' commercial breaks every 5 minutes. I realize that they have to pay the bills, but come on...
I'm sure I'm in the minority, but I remember him best as Schwarzenegger's mentor in Raw Deal. This flick is one of my favorite guilty pleasures, and McGavin is teriffic in an over-the-top, scenery-chewing way. He will be missed.
I just watched the original AvP last night. I didn't hate it, but my expectations may have been tempered to the point where I couldn't hate it. I was hoping for another Freddy vs. Jason (a match up a lot of fans wanted, a great concept and a competent director). Fox got the first one right...
I discovered this great film with Warner's restoration in college ('95 or so?), and thanks to this new DVD I re-discovered it last night. A true American classic.
