Jeff, I live in Seattle. I think there's a Walmart somewhat near me, but it's hardly worth the drive to save 10 bucks. Even then, have never been in a Walmart before.
Unfortunately, there isn't much. Hopefully someone can find someone I wasn't able to find. Amazon is selling it for $83, minus 10% from Share the Love (there was also a $10 of $75 coupon online, but I believed that expired yesterday). That comes down to a still expensive $75. Costco...
What is this mysterious "Share the Love" I figure there will be some B&M with a sub-$40 price tag, but I have a juicy gift certificate for Amazon. However, if I'm going to be paying almost 10 bucks more...
Nothing for Jedi Academy? I was a bit disappointed by its msrp (50 for a PC game!), and most places apparently either aren't getting it, or selling it for msrp. If you have a Fry's in the area, they are selling it for 40 today and tomorrow.
Is anyone selling Morrowind cheaper than $30? I know you can get the X-box version for $20, but the PC version looks 10 times better, plus the expansions are already out for it (instead of waiting until October for the Xbox).
Wow! They ship fast; got it today! (received shipping confirmation on wednesday). Needless to say, this is one of the best DVD sets I've seen. I'll be stuck watching extras forever!
The Monitor 7's MSRP is $700/pair. You can't go wrong with any of those floorstanders. You got to listen to them, and find out which one you like. There's nothing I, or anyone, can say that will help you decide. But IMO, I would go bookshelf. You already got a great sub in the VTF-2 (which...
Yup, the 8" driver on the 3 isn't liked by much (if any). You can't use them as mains are there isn't a center channel that's timbre matched. Which means you gotta use a third one instead. And who has room for that?
Going by my dealer's weak-sauce MSRP, the Monitor 11 retails for $1000/pair. The Studio/40s with the wood laminate sell for $900/pair. I believe you got the price for the wood veneer Studio 40s.
If you are just planning on using them with a sub on, I'd say Titan. Its a much better speaker for a little bit more. Although I recommend auditioning all three if possible. I'd be curious to see how the micros compare with the same sub. I think a 80 hz crossover would be too low for them, so...
Since you listen to movies significantly, I would go with the fronts/sub, surrounds, then center route. If you plan on a lot of people watching movies at one time, then I would switch the surrounds with the center. Your mains are arguably your most important speaker (except for sub) for HT, and...
I agree with John. For the price difference, there's really no reason to take the atoms over the titans. If you have space considerations, both are probably too big, so you'd be looking at something else anyway. I like the dipoles, but for double the price of the Titans, they simply aren't...
Only one version of American Beauty - the dts one. And I'll go out on a limb and say any version of RtP should work. All 3 versions are selling at 14.99. Although I wouldn't put it past BB to say you need to get the P&S version to get the deal  Still, I've never seen AB, and didn't...
I was always under the impression that your settings in 480i or 480p or 1080i were completely different, and they don't affect each other. They sure don't with my 30" Samsung.
To not have any desire to see this because they changed the way the characters looked is a little mind-boggling. I mean, if this movie was an exact copy of an actual issue of the comic, I'd pass. I like to see people's interpretations of original sources; probably why you'll never hear me...
In defense of the 309x series, the TV is 5 or 6 inches smaller in heigh than the 32" 4:3 one. That alone made the decision for me; I don't have room for a huge 4:3 screen! Another consideration is what your main source going to be. Where I plan on sitting, analog cable on a 32" 4:3 screen...
IMO, go with the 3SE MK3s. The fact that you would be using one for your center is more than enough. Although how do you plan on getting these guys level with each other? The phantoms are part of what I like to call the "bleh" line of Paradigm speakers. Really, I see no reason for them...
It will do the job. If it's her first experience with Dolby Digital, I think she will absolutely love it. It is missing DPL2, although you might have to hit the $300 level mark for HTiB before you get that feature. One thing to note is that it has no digital in. So if you ever plan on using...
In a decent sized room, I don't think there is a receiver under a thousand that could follow power the Studio 80s. If they're anything like the 100s, they need some juice. Still, with the money saved on the Panny, a nice 2 or 3 channel amp may be in order (the Panny could very much be enough...
First off, knowing what you plan on using these speakers for would be a big plus. If all our HT, get Titans all around and a cc-170. Save money by not going in the monitor line to grab a great sub. In HT and with a nice sub, the Titans are going to sound pretty much like the Mini-monitors...
