Well.. you're only going to get HD through component (on anything) and a DD signal has only ever been passed over digital coax or optical cable. So if it's "gay", it's going to be "gay" for anything you watch HD on or listen to DD on.
1899 is the list price so it's nothing that you won't get anyplace else. The bigger issue right now is getting the TV at all. Add it to your cart at sonystyle and you'll see that they have no ship date on them. No one seems to have them.
Stick with the JBL's. My personal opinion is to buy fewer things now and wait longer to fill out the system. Even it it means waiting a while to get the sub, wait and make sure you get what you want even if it takes longer. I'm currently doing the same thing, and I'll be ordering the HK325...
For starters, the 320 has only 5 amplified channels. The 325 also adds the triple crossover and DD-EX. Something else you need to consider in the price is that harmanaudio.com will charge you sales tax and shipping. For me, the total for the 320 is $455.533. There are other places like onecall...
Hrmm.. I'm pretty sure that with the stand, the center of the screen is about 40" off the ground. I'm 6'3" and my wife is 5'6". My eye level while sitting is about 41" from the ground and hers is about 39". Lowering the TV's center to 30" or lower, to me, would only work if we always layed down...
The stand for the 46" Sony is also offered free at Circuit City. Other retailers may also offer it, but they're not required to. I belive Sears and BestBuy are not offering the free stand. That TV really needs to be about a foot higher, and fortunately the stand is 12 inches. I just baught...
I just had a similar expierenece tonight. I've been in the market for various HT components and I decided to pull the trigger on a RPTV this weekend. Anyway, total cost out of my pocket, 2 different local retailers wouldn't get any closer than $200 more than onecall. They actually wouldn't even...
You need to have 2 inputs to do PiP. You said that your TV only has one coax input. I don't think your TV would support PiP if it didn't have 2 inputs. Beyond that, you'd need 2 digital cable boxes to PiP. You could split the cable before it went into the cable box and run one to the TV, the...
I know your post was still there, but most of it was edited out. I can't find the post that I was referring to, so I'm assuming that the content that was edited out was what I originally read. As far as "they" I'm referring to the author of the post that I thought was antagonistic. I didn't...
John, Having read your original message before it was edited, if I recall correctly, it was antagonistic, atacking and accusational. If I'm remembering a different post, then I appologize, but I can't find the post I'm thinking of any more which leads me to belive that it was yours. I also...
Yes, wire them in series. The 1803 has 2 sets of speaker posts for the 6th and 7th speakers, but it doesn't amp them speprately. In the case of the 1803, the receiver handles the wiring in series for you. A 16ohm load just means that the amp has to work less (and there will be less output).
Brian - For $800, I'd assume you're talking about the 325. I think you get a lot more than component switching for that. Over the Kennwood you get - 7 amplified channels 192k/24-Bit Capable MP3 Decoding On Screen Display 2 Zones Full pre-outs 7.1 inputs A-BUS H/K's Triple...
From what I've read, Sony won't do a recall because they can't determine which sets may have the problem. I guess the issue is with one type of CRT they've put in the sets. There might be 3 or more different types that they've used, and they can't say that one specific machine has these CRT's...
There's a thread over at avsforum where a guy built a stand for the center channel for this TV. He has all the specs there. Unfortunately I don't have the link at the moment.. but try searching over there and see what you come up with.
It's a little more complicated than just 'filler' material, but for all intents and purposes, that describes it. Basically the image is blown up and the resolution is made smaller. But since the original doesn't have the detail that a true 1080i image would, the upconverted image can't possibly...
Does that include shipping? Their site doesn't say that it does.. and this years model is only $261 more and that includes shipping. Just something to think about..
I'm not a lawyer, but my opinion about the DMCA isn't to favorable to begin with. The thing that everyone should be more concerned with is the SSSCA. I've worked in the computer industry for quite a while, and this is about the scariest thing I've seen. For anyone not familiar with it, there's...
When in 1080i mode, the STB will upconvert all non HD material to 1080i. That's why it puts the black bars in. 1080i is always in a 16:9 format. As far as which is better.. which do you think looks better? In previous posts, you were talking about wanting to use stretch modes. If you're...
