Instruction manual on line? I hope not. It's possibly the worst instruction manual I've seen. Go to remotecentral.com & check out the review there. That'll tell you basically what you want to know.
First, I'd like to apologize to Ron Reda for what seems like (and may in fact be) my taking over his thread. I hope some of the discussion has been helpful to you, Ron, in your original question. Second, thank you Philip, John, John, Chu Gai, Bob, and JimN for your comments as they have been...
Bob, that's very interesting, and thanks for the example. I think I understand this phenomenon, and the physical causes as set out in this thread.
Here's what I'm really wondering about, though. I read reviews of digit interconnects in Stereophile magazine, and I'd like to quote from the...
I understand that there would be problems if there were jitter and there were no buffering. I also understand that poor cables may have reflectance at interfaces if there were impedence mismatching. One thing I don't understand is how reflectance would be related to jitter, and thus how a...
Well, Aslam, I'm quite happy with the length and guage of my cable, thank you. I also give to charity regularly. However, I think you may have paid too much for your 3801. I'm sure you could have gotten something that would produce sound for much less.
I think adding a separate amp (Bryston...
Thanks, Sankar. Interesting about grounding. I'd also been thinking I may need to add a ground from the satellite receiver. Sounds almost sacreligious, but maybe that's the answer. I'll try it this weekend.
Will the traps and isolators work with satellite coax? I have a hum when I connect the coax input to my HDTV satellite receiver to anything - either the coax from the dish or the coax termination on a surge protector. Do they only work for cable TV and OTA antennas?
I have VR-M 90s in front, and VR-M 50's as surrounds, plus the VR-MC center channel, VR-MEX rear surround, and PV-1000 sub-woofer. I had everything powered by an Integra DTR 7.1, which is actually a 6.1 channel receiver. I was not happy with the sound the Integra produced through the 90s, and...
I have a hum when playing my turntable. I've attached the turntable ground to the pre-amp (actually a receiver with pre-outs), and then to the separate 2-channel amplifier, and get hum in either case. Do I need to connect the pre-amp and amp grounds together?
