I've heard lots about the new HK525, stuff they've added and taken away. but does it sound better than the 520? I'm in the market for a new reciever and wanted to know what some of you guys thought the 525 sounded significantly better for the price. thanks

Kevin we are in similar but different situations. i also have the vr507 and am looking to upgrade to the HK520 or HK525 very soon. I'm sure i'll go with the 520, due to the great deals on the market. I really enjoy the clean warm sound of the HK. My uses will be about 75% movies 25% music...

I think i'll be getting the 520 soon myself, (within the month). the prices are getting low enough that it too good to pass by. I've had a Kenwood Vr-507 for almost two years, and its served me well, but i'm ready for an upgrade.

i'm also new at this and this is my first post! i've read the buzz surrounding the new outlaw 950 preamp, will this enhance an existing entry level reciever? or will it be used for some other purpose? any post will be appreciated.
