How to price a 53" ISF-calibrated HD RPTV?

i recently sold my 53WX52 for $1200. I think the 52 retailed for a couple hundred more than the 42 ? It was not ISF calibrated though.

85db pink noise, MUCH louder then 85db on DVD..

reference level is supposed to be loud. you should probably find -25 or -20 to be an reasonable listening level. remember, every 10db increase in spl is perceived as a doubling of volume. that makes reference level FOUR TIMES as loud -20.

    SPL speaker calibration...not so simple??

Rotel doesn't use the 0db volume scale so you won't be able to do this. Your volume scale probably goes from 0 - 85. You can arbitrarilly choose a number (try 65 or 75) and then adjust the individual channel levels so that the avia test tones read 85db on your meter, with the rotel's master...

Subjective listening evaluation and/or comparison: VMPS Larger to SVS PB-2 Plus

Roger, I own an VMPS larger sub. I have not heard any SVS subs other than my old 20-39CS ISD, so i cannot make any comparisons between the models you are looking at. But, i figured i would mention it since there does not seem to be many VMPS owners here. Please let me know if you have any...

SVS questions..Why can't I turn it up? Speaker seems very fragile. 20-39 PC+

what you're not grasping is that it's not a volume control, it's a gain. SVS does not know what receiver or pre-amp you will be using, and each one outputs from the sub-out preamp at a different level. The higher the output from your receiver, the lower you will need to set the gain on the SVS...

Okay.. okay.. so I can't make up my damn mind.

i'd go with the Atoms for front and rear, especially if you don't have the proper room setup for the ADPs.

Doug, which one are you looking at ?

Any users of the Outlaw ICBM?

i'm actually still using the ICBM, it's just not filtering the signal going to my mains anymore. my preamp has 2 duplicate outputs, one of them goes directly to the amp and runs the speakers full-range. The 2nd output now goes to the ICBM , which is only hooked up to the sub. I'm crossing the...

    Direct mode vs stereo mode

sure what is happening is that in direct mode, your cd player is getting the digital information from the and converting it to analog. It's sending the signal to your receiver or pre/pro which is simply passing it along to your amplifier and out to your speakers. This is the most direct path...

an outlaw ICBM, or similar high quality analog crossover would allow you to have both.

Need advice on crossover setting on receiver

80hz for movies. Anything lower and you're going to be cutting off a good portion of the LFE channel. Also, a good portion of the bass in most movies is contained in the main channels and your SVS will do a better job with this than your Mirage speakers. For music, you might want to experiment...
