Yes I am definitely in need of a new receiver. My 1999 Denon AVR 1800 still works great but the connectivity is just not there. I have 7.1 so I would get another sub and two more speakers and I'll have 9.2. thanks home theater forum
I'M IN!!!
My 15 year old Denon doesn't have HDMI so I would really like a new receiver to complement my 4 ohm speakers.
I have 7.1 speakers but only a 5.1 system, this would definitely help.
thx :D
Yes, I use my pre-outs of my Denon 1800, I have a Bryston 8B-ST (only using 3 channels now). Probably end up buying a 3 channel amp when I get a 7.1 processor. 120 Watts of Bryston sure beat the hell out of 75 Watts of Denon.
Yeah, I know how you feel Serge, so I usually get everything shipped to my aunt's place near Niagara Falls, then I go pick it up or she brings it across (that's what we had to do with my SVS 16-46CS+ and amp) No duty, no taxes, no problems (this time)
David, glad you like them. I myself have the Axioms M80Ti, VP150 & QS8 along with SVS 16-46 CS+ (/w Samson 1000) and absolutely love it when the sounds start flying. I myself only have a 32" TV but will be possibly upgrading to a projector soon. Hope you enjoy your speakers for a long time!
I have the M80s driven only by a Denon 1800 and it plays them plenty loud with no stress heard. Your 3802 should suffice (unless your listening area is a small concert hall). I compared the Axiom M80 to Paradigm Monitor 9 v2 and the Axiom's were far better in focused imaging and bass.
save yourself some headaches and call around before you head out, i did and got alot of "we don't carry them anymore" or "don't have any setup but can order them for you"
Salvador, are you the Salvador that was at the meet?
Anyway, it was in February and as I said, it was in my Aunt's van, right in the back. You have to use the right kind of people to come back unchecked ;].
She didn't get stopped and neither did I and I was only over for 6 hours.
I ordered an svs and amp and had it shipped to my aunt's place about 20 mins east of Niagara Falls.
I went over to pick it up and just drive back late at night on the weekend but the damn sub (16-46cs+, no box) was too BIG for my Jetta's trunk and I wasn't about to leave it in the back seat...
Screen door? Is that a negative effect created by the projector?
Where would you be buying it for $2700 CDN?
What other costs would there be for total setup?
What is iscan?
As you can see I know nothing about projectors, any info would be appreciated. I don't have alot of time right now...
Hey Chris
At the meet, we met at Audio Excellence then to DVD Wave, then over to Miles place for some scrutinizing of his system (music/movies).
Some guys brought equipment to mess around with (speakers, games, etc). Very interesting to see/hear other stuff.
About the AE100, I too am...
Hey Chris and Dave, the meet was a good time, very informative.
I was checking out StudioLabs before I bought my Axiom M80s.
I went there for a demo and the guy I was emailing to wasn't there (the owner's son I believe) but this other fellow was there and he let me put in my music and I...
I too, can relate to the elitist attitude and bad service, but I don't tell the salesperson/manager that I bought my stuff somewhere else, why should I? If they want to treat people like crap, hopefully those people will tell others not to shop there due to the bad service/attitude and they will...
Hello Greg
I happen to own the M80, VP150 and QS8 and as I have stated before, they sound great!
The QS8s were surprisingly small when I got them but do the job most effectively. They don't overpower, they just do their job as surrounds should.
I have mine mounted on the side wall, a...

I was looking for amps there awhile ago and there was a guy selling his parasound but I don't think it's there anymore.
Hey Al,
I am using a Denon 1800 (75wpc 8ohm) with the M80, VP150 & QS8 (4,6,6ohm respectively) in a 10.5 x 27 x 7.5 room. I have no problems with the Denon putting out loud volumes.
I would think you should be happy with the 1802
Best of luck

I have the same speakers as John but my VP150 is the first edition MTMTM.
I certainly don't find any problems with this speaker, it does its' job very well just like the rest of the Axiom lineup.
Hey Alex
I have the Axiom M80, VP150 & QS8 and have heard the other Axiom speakers. Let me tell you they are excellent for accuracy and imaging. I chose them over the Paradigm Monitor 9 (and the recommended centre and rears).
Much more defined and accurate.
Best of Luck!
