FYI it would also be ok to state, "The price is $185.40 + shipping and there is a $5.40 discount for money order" or "$185.40 and paypal only"... Hope this helps.
sorry for the confusion... I didn't mean to imply one could by a late 80's or mid 90's receiver w/ DTS. Even DD would be very uncommon until the mid 90s. However, for the money, I think you could get one which has both of these features. It seems that this would be the best value for the...
you definitely want dolby digital and or dts. I'd look for the 5.1 channel input also. If you look, you should be able to find something with these features for under $100. Also, older receivers often had the crossover fixed at 100hz, instead of the more desirable 80. Be sure to check into that...
All items are like new, the Onkyo will ship with the original box while the speakers will be well packed. Prices don't include shipping to lower 48, but I will charge an estimate based on your location and then refund any overcharge. Paypal only w/ no fee. Thanks Infinity Overture 1 bookshelf...
it won't make any difference. The mini-plug is still a stereo audio connection. Sound will be the same. I'm looking for an ipod dock which will allow me an optical output to use the internal DAC in my receiver.
I can assure you I've never seen one that does this. All the ones I've seen must have the track set and the wake up track doesn't change unless you actually change it yourself, sort of like setting the time. I think you may be on a wild goose chase...
I'm pretty certain you won't find one that does that. Your best hope would be one that you program, then you easily change to the next track for the next day. When I bought the GE a few years back, I actually auditioned all the models with a cd (in the Circuit City) and chose the GE, which...
haha, now HK receivers "blow up"?? You just mentioned usability for the first time. Understandably, you must cast a wider net. I'll address the usability issue. I agree that HK receivers can be slightly less intuitive to use than other receivers. However, so can Denon. In the end, if you follow...
yeah, I tend to take Consumer Reports' stuff w/ a grain of salt, too, ever since I flipped through a few years ago and discovered the Bose Lifestyle system won their "best music system" award. What a joke. On top of that, there is also the fact that CR assesses tvs right out of the box with...
http://www.hometheaterhifi.com/volum..._Receivers.jpg http://www.hometheaterhifi.com/volum...7-page-38.html see bottom of page for HK at 2007 CES. Again, distortions and inaccuracies are added to Arthur S's generalizations and vagaries...
Just to point out when John B. originally posted he was saying the Yamaha and Denon are a better alternative than Pioneer. Not that they are a better alternative than HK. Again, selective reading..
with all due respect you need to reed our posts regarding MSRP. Have you read the AVSForum threads on MSRP? You should go read them and get back to me. Thanks for contributing to this thread... Understand this: the 745 just came out and it is already at the low low price. It didn't take a year...
Like I said before, MSRP is basically arbitrary and typically chosen by the eggheads in the marketing department. Since HK is sold in a number of retail outlets, they can basically place it on "sale" at the lower price when it is really full price. Make sense? Basically to figure out which model...
I wasn't saying all receivers have issues, I was saying the above quote pretty much applies to all equipment.. As for HK, I stand by what I orginally said--if QC is important, just be sure to buy something with a warranty and not from a reseller. Then you have piece of mind Even if HK had...
