Wow, that elimination at the end of the show was one of the most gut-wrenching things on Idol in 10 seasons. Really felt bad for the person got axed, but holy cow, poor J-Lo felt 100 times worse. Steven Tyler even looked like he was going to lose it.
I am so glad the Jersey Shore Snooki wannabe got eliminated. Especially after the cocky smack talking she did during the first round of individual performances in Hollywood. Too bad the tall blonde from Nashville bailed on her original group to team up with her. That was a bad, bad decision.
I thought the same thing. I seem to recall reading somewhere that after the last season Russell was on, Probst mentioned that they would make the hidden immunity idol a lot more difficult to find. In light of that, the fact that a dimwit like Christina could find it so easily was a bit...
Russell Hantz must be kicking himself for not being cast in this season. He'd coast to an easy win competing against this collection of feeble-minded, mouth-breathers.
Yeah, I don't know if she just does not care for that style anymore or if someone in her management (i.e. her husband) is steering her away. Either way, it's not a good thing for her solo career.
Speaking of solo stuff, Liv Kristine of Leaves' Eyes has a new solo CD. It's very...hmm, well...
Been a while since I've browsed this thread...
I'm afraid I hated Tarja's first solo CD and from the clips I've heard of the new one, I don't think I'll be picking it up. She's kind of heading down the path to Sarah Brightman.
Anyone get the new Kamelot CD yet? I have it and in...
I saw that scene during a commercial while watching Survivor. Through the magic of TiVo, I must have rewound and watched it 10 times. Flat out gut-wrenchingly hilarous, from the head snapping back to the thud sound to the amazing accuracy of the shot. The best part about the extended clip is the...
I hope Coach Johnson lasts a while because I am pulling for him. I don't know if he's going to make it very far. His physical ability to withstand the environment may be an issue down the road. Also, the whole celebrity status thing is definitely going to make him a target. Still, he's a good...
I was mildly entertained by Ellen up until the end where she bailed out on basically the 2nd half of the original performance. I guess it should be expected since she's got about as much dance experience as I do, but if she's going to take on such an unforgettable dance routine, there's going to...
Wow, I kind of felt dirty watching Cat swear like that. From that EW interview, I have to say Kent was a total punk for pouring water on Lauren for no reason and triggering the food fight in their apartment. Glad he lost.
Plus the fact that Kathryn was invited back as an all-star validates to me the notion that she is a better dancer. Hell, they brought back freaking Ade and Twitch, but not Russell? Out of all the seasons I've watched, last season was the most crushingly disappointing one. Kathryn was flat out...
Wow, very surprised. Finally a finale that worked out the right way. Lauren totally deserved to win. She showed more growth over a season than any other dancer probably in the history of the show. Good for her. She'll have no problems finding work as a professional dancer.
The thing that really impresses me about Lauren is that when you see her talking or being interviewed, she comes off as your every day young kid. Reminds me a lot of Mollee from last season. Unlike Mollee however, Lauren dances like a seasoned adult. Her ballroom dance with Pasha last night was...
Well, I guess all we can go on is the presence or absence of the words "2-disc set" in the bottom right corner of the back of the paper case insert because I watched the new version tonight after picking it up at Best Buy earlier in the day. It's definitely the new remaster because it looks...
I can confirm that new serial number. I just picked up the remaster today at Best Buy. The outside cardboard slip cover has a serial number ending in 517 but the paper insert wrapped around the case has a serial number ending in 515 in the bottom right corner. One other possible difference...
I laughed out loud when one of this season's designated golden boys, Billy Bell, had to dance to...Footloose. Really? Footloose?? Talk about off the scale on the cheese meter. At least Lauren was nice to look at. For the most part the contestants were all pretty average. I didn't quite get...
I wonder how the partner rotations will work out. There are 11 contestants (5 girls, 6 guys) and 12 all-stars (6 girls, 6 guys). Does this mean one all-star gets a bye week? It almost seems like a setup to bring in a surprise 12th contestant. Guess we'll find out tonight...
The marching frat boys was hilarious, but for my money, even more hilarious is watching the epic meltdown which resulted in one of the greatest lines in Amazing Race history: "MY OX IS BROKEN!"
Classic, in that trainwreck sort of way.
I'm going to Disneyland this Saturday until next Tuesday. Then I am going to see Epica in San Francisco next Wednesday.
Don, were there any opening acts at the NY show? And did they let people bring cameras into the venue? I am SO looking forward to basking in the glorious awesomeness of Simone.
Damn, Floor is so hot in that sexy Nordic valkyrie kind of way. Yum./img/vbsmilies/htf/yum.gif
I would submit to Floor any day.
And Simone is just hot because she's a goddess.
The annoying thing to me is that if they wanted to pimp the whole untrained, unpolished diamond angle, Legacy was a much more compelling story. Personally, I wanted him to win the competition. His b-boy skills were incredible and for someone who truly has no formal training in other dance...
Just based on being a pure power voice, no one touches Floor Jansen. I will say that the last two After Forever albums before they broke up had a definite mainstream edge to them. The earlier After Forever stuff is a lot more metal inspired, but it also includes a lot of Mark Jansen's growling...
I didn't know that acoustic CD was coming out. As much as I like WT, I'll probably pass. I'm not a fan of acoustic CDs. For an epic sounding band like WT to go acoustic is kind of weak in my mind. I'm sure it will sound good, but taking all those powerful songs and gimping them is not terribly...
White Waters is a completely throwaway song. Feels out of place on the CD actually.
As for Simone being underused, I don't get that impression. If anything, they've tried different things to vary her vocal range a lot more than in any of their previous releases. There is a lot of grunting, but...
Awesome. I'm eager to hear what you think about it. I've been listening to it every day and it's just an incredibly awesome CD. The band really made a dramatic leap in evolution since the Divine Conspiracy.
