I couldn't find any info on the 8196HK newer version coming out.
Looking around at raw drivers I had forgotten about the siesmic 8196E. Here are the specs:
QTS: .19
FS: 19 hz
QES: .21
Xmax: 25 mm
Pe: 1100 watts
sens: 20 - 80 hz: 96.7 db
EBP: 90
With such a low Q and high EBP it looks like it will actually sound good in a vented box.
Actually you can have the sleep feature turned off all together. I know my local dealer said that he would turn the feature off for free.
The Crown also has the best warranty in the biz, three year no fault. I've never had any problems with them though so I've never had to test it. A friend...
