I can also confirm receiving a DVD bonus disc from Best Buy (with the Blu Ray) that has the contents of the Complete Series extra disc. First time I've ever seen one of these errors work in the buyer's favor. Same price as the Blu Ray from Amazon, too. Now *that's* a bonus.
DDD is pricematching Amazon on the MASH set. The question is - will that price stick around for the next couple of weeks or so? Y'all know what I'm talking about!
I don't understand why they don't do more about orders that go missing. I have had at least three vanish into thin air -- and then I figured it out about a week ago when someone else's order arrived at my place out of the blue. I assume when most people get these navigationally challenged...
My guess is that Best Buy had a lot of excess stock of these and worked with Paramount to unload them. I've seen reports on other boards of people getting the Best Buy bonus discs from price-dropped sets ordered at other retailers. Makes a lot of sense if you consider that Best Buy never really...
Yes, but you can't pass up this set. Lots of extras to see, and important to show support for this release. Especially those who have benefitted from the, uh, "other" way of seeing the show. Which nonethelesss still has a very special place in my heart.
Nice set. The PQ is decent, although those who have the "other way" of watching these episodes from the past(he says, complying with the rules) might be surprised to see that it's not much better than what is offered by the "other way". Is it too much to hope that there will be widespread...
I just received this from Amazon.ca and can confirm that they are selling the three disc, 10-episode version. The cover is not as pictured -- it is very similar if not identical to the UK R2 special edition. So big thumbs up - around $25 US shipped.
This is a great deal. The problem is, season 4 doesn't street for a week and they have put out the stock for Seasons 1-3 already. I need season 3 and am holding out for the deal. Let's hope that it sticks around for a week to take advantage.
Las Vegas Season Two -- theme music has been replaced. On the positive side, it is at least the same theme used for the season one discs. This really ticks me off because the theme is a big kick-off to this show for me, but you can understand that the King's estate probably wanted a lot...
I've actually got a couple of beefs with this set. First, the forced trailers at the beginning of disc 1 kind of mess up the karma of this release, and I shouldn't have to press "menu" to skip them. Second, the pilot is broken into two parts -- it was originally aired (and actually reaired at...
Ahh, appreciate the info. Got Sideways from DDD and was upset because I thought they had sent a used copy someone had cut the UPC from for a rebate. (They also sent Foolscreen when I ordered WS, so it was still wrong ....)
Hey, just picked these up at a retailer for $10.99 apiece. Took a quick look at them and the quality is generally quite good. There are a decent number of scratches or flecks, but I don't think anyone expected these to be digitally cleaned up. Given the age of the source material, I think the...
Excellent, especially at the price. There just isn't anything like that old Disney/Wild Kingdom feel of exotic adventure anymore. Now we have the Crocodile Hunter.
"While Jim is being eaten by the giant Anaconda, let me say a word about Mutual of Omaha term life insurance . . . ."
I went looking for a customer service email to complain to Universal with no luck. As someone pointed out uptopic, this is advertised as "uncut" -- given that someone was able to win a class action settlement over something as stupid as a cropped release not being "widescreen", if I had more...
Yep -- it's the opening theme song on every episode but the pilot. Don't ask me how or why it can be on there for the pilot but not the other episodes. Also, the title sequence is inexplicably from the second season. While the phrase is now one of the most overused and hackneyed in the...
I second the complliments for Charlie. I have only been through this quickly, but I must say that the "Vintage Gallery" in addition to its regular merits is one of the most unintentionally comic things I have seen in a long time. I am amazed that anyone connected with Kenny Loggins allowed...
Thanks for the clarification on Star Trek S2 at Costco, but #$#@! I saw the mistaken tag and left it there! I may just eat the $10 and order from Amazon now.
Oh, for crying out loud! The more they get away with this, the more they'll keep doing it. NO ORIGINAL MUSIC=NO SALE! Uh, but I really, really liked this series . . . .
I'm also wondering if they're going to use it as the theme for season two. It does grow on you a little bit, although the original music is so closely associated with this show that I can't believe they'd change it in either place.
