In addition, all of the ads I've seen have had close boxes on them. Yes, it's annoying. It would be much more annoying to me if the site didn't exist. If he needs to put those up to help pay for maintaining the site, I'm all for it. If I could pay him $25 a year to get the site without...
Absolutely, although I haven't seen it since the first run. I remember as a young person at the time being entranced with the idea that someone could have enough money to own his own jet, and be able to park a corvette in it. Of course, I didn't end up doing magic in my life, as I realized...
Here's another vote for Project Questor and Genesis II. I'd also love to see Planet Earth (second attempt at Genesis II) and Spectre. As these were all Gene Roddenberry attempts, I'm suprised they don't distribute them through his wife's website. I suppose she doesn't have the rights to them...
Jason, Thanks for that link! Now I can really get excited, and start pacing the floors waiting for that to release. Bruce (former resident of Fairfax, who remembers when Burke was a small town)
I'm considering this as a blind purchase, as I'm currently doing some work with the composer of the music for the series. It doesn't hurt that I'm a big science fiction fan, but I haven't had time recently to watch much television, much less all my DVDs. Bruce
Thanks for the comments. I'm currently interested in Sirius because of their NPR channel. Living in the hills as I do, I get spotty coverage. One of my major concerns with Sirius is that they don't seem to have the expanded line of receivers as XM does. I guess it may be that their product...
You're quite welcome. I've been holding off on buying these as I was concerned about quality, and put off by price. I guess I can bite the bullet at the sales price, but go in with the knowledge that is is VHS or slightly better quality. But it is too good a program to miss. Have to admit, I...
Indeed.... I recently installed a copy on my father's machine, and it took about 15 minutes for it to process all of the data. Of course, he's running virtual PC on a iBook, just so he can run DVDProfiler, but still :) In fact, it timed out during the download, so I had to restart it...
Well, it is a worthwhile repurchase, in my opinion. I remember seeing this movie when it was first released, and was quite disappointed with the first transfer. This re-release makes me quite happy! Can't wait to get it in my grubby little hands. Bruce
It's been this way since release (There is something about it on their website). You can go to "my profiler" at their website and get a copy downloaded of your discs that way, but it isn't enabled via the application yet. Bruce
Ric,
Are you sure you're not a shill for Paramount?
My original intention was to pick up only the "best" seasons... but now that I've printed out a couple of your covers, it is clear that I'll need to own them all, just so your cover scheme works properly on my shelf.
Oustanding work, sir...
John, Is there somewhere better that we might discuss the options of how to get that data into my PC? I've got several tapes of stuff I recorded off of TV that I've love to save off to DVD. Most of it is copyrighted (old superbowls, and Science Fiction that I don't expext to ever make it to...
Well, I can understand that, having moved about 3 months ago myself. Before I figured out how to do it the easy way, I spent about 10 minutes manually queuing them up for updates. Sorry not to be more help. Best of luck with your move! Bruce
I think that if you try to upload them to "My Profiler", it will tag them all and download them as well. But I still think the easiest is to do as Mark Wilson suggested. Go to options, click on low quality resolution, then high quality, and it will tag them all for download. Bruce
Vince...
I haven't clicked on the links specifically to read them yet. But reading through the topic list, it strikes me that if I were a newbie (and thinking back to when my sister first got DVD), one of the topic headings that would have been useful would be "Why you can't hook up your DVD...
I'm 42.
Been a gamer for years and years. But of course, I work in the industry.
I've got about 250 DVDs, and games flow through my hands (research, don't you know!).
Actually, I was wondering why they don't sell DVDs of older Super Bowls separately. I'm sure there is a negotiation issue with the network that broadcast originally, but still...
I'd pay $20 to get some of those classic Redskins wins on DVD!
Is it possible you're thinking about DVD Profiler, rather than DVD Tracker?
I've never seen DVD Tracker anywhere other than on the web.
DVD Profiler can be found at:
