Has anyone seen a dark brown line along the left edge of the projected image? This just showed up one day and I don't know what is the problem. Any ideas would help? Thanks.....
I'm running Energy E:XL 16's and a E:XL-C center channel with a Denon 1602. The sub is a SVS 20-39cs. This system is more than enough for me. I love Denon. :D

I have to agree with the review. I own a Denon 1602 and felt that there was really no reason to get the 1802. When doing side by side comparisons the difference in sound quality was not even noticeable.
I had no need for the pre-outs and extra optical input so I went with the 1602. I used the...
Hey Norman I have to say that the e:xl 16's are very good speakers. I run four of theses and a e:xl center in my setup. They sound great at reference levels and are sensitive speakers so they don't require as much power. I have everything crossed over at 80hz to my SVS 20-39 and I couldn't be...
Ron that was really an bitterly honest review.:) I really like Martin but from this review you have me wondering if this is even worth a rental.

Jim,I picked up 450RG about a week ago to replace my old Sony Receiver. It is great the digital out works well and the on screen caller ID function is nice. The only thing is it doesn't have a favorites list like my Sony but for $80 I can't complain.

Michael, My vote is for the Denon. But the best thing to do is demo both receivers and see which one sounds the best to you. Try using the same speakers you are going to be using at home or at least the same set of speakers in the store when demoing.

Hey Guys
Just to clear things up a little. HBO only broadcasts 5.1 material on HBO/Channel 501 and HBOW/Channel 504 on DTV. Starz/520 also broadcasts some 5.1 material. I don't have Showtime so I can't verify those broadcasts. Before the program starts they always tell you what format is...
Well Jeffry let me see if I can help.
You can leave the cable connected the same way and still use PIP. To get the sattelite in the mix you need to connect it to another video input 1 or 2 for example.
You should only need one receiver but if you want to use it to watch more than one sat...
Hey Richard I have to agree with Michael on this one. Get the largest size you can afford. I went from a 25" to 27" to a 32" to a 55" RPTV in about two years. Imagine the time and money I would have saved if I just bought the 55" from the start. :D I sit about 9 feet away from my non-HD set...
Hey Rod, you might want to try to set your receiver to auto detect what sound mode you are using. I'm not to familar with your unit but most have this option in the menu. You should also make sure you have the DVD player set-up to output the audio signal correctly. Lastly, you usually have to...
I harldy ever watch the extras. To me extras are just alot of extra work I rather just watch the film. Like others have said most extras suck.

Well I must say I have never heard of most of the bear listed here. I live in Miami so we drink mostly imports not alot of micros.
My personal favorites are:
1.Heineken
2.Corona
3.Red Stripe(Jamaica)
In that order, I also drink a few other brews on occasion.
Honey Brown, Hollanda...
Hey Steve,
I think its worth it if you can get for $100 or less.
You will be getting DD 5.1 and DTS capability plus S-video connects. Just make sure everything is working.
Oh Yeah this post should be in the receiver section.

Eddie, take a look at the set-up menu and make sure that the the audio inputs are assigned as analog and not digital. My friend had that problem with his Kenwood but he didn't find out until after he had taken it in for repair. :D Luckily it was still under warranty so he didn't have to pay...
Johnson,
I have a 1602 and that is set to Auto mode. Any material that is not DD 5.1 or DTS I just use PL II. You should not have to make any change on the receiver, it should default to PL II automatically.

"Oh my God that is ridiculous that thing is bigger than Angelo!"
This is what my wife said when I first set-up my SVS 20-39, Angelo is my 3yr old son. :D LOL

Jason to me this movie was average and at times it did suck. I just felt that it was targeting a more commercial audience. But, I definitely agree that Toy Story and Toy Story 2 where much better, probably the best in this catergory.
Later Haywood
I have to agree that Shrek was over rated. I thought it was an average movie and still don't understand what all the hype was all about.
Later Haywood
Jason the 1802 is 80x5 while the 1602 is 70x5 not really a major power difference but a good $100-$150 difference in price. As far as features there are only a few small differences. If you have speakers with a decent efficieny rating you should have a no problem with the 1602 or 1802, you can...
