Kamal_K It sounds like you bought the same HTIB setup that I did. I second the replacement of the little 50watt sub. I purchased a SAWM40 about a month and a half after the box set and it just made a tremendous difference! Currently the little 50watt sub is in the rear of the room to provide a...
As David Lambert posted above, computer DVD players should not see the layer change...but my system sure did notice something at this point. The audio popped and then briefly dropped out. I have never had a problem like this with any of my other discs on my HTPC. While I noticed a difference in...
I too have recently discovered how much better Superbit DVD's are to the original release. I watched Fifth Element one night a few weeks ago and just enjoyed re watching one of my favorite films. The next day, I was walking the DVD section of Best Buy looking for some titles to blow some cash...
I don't have the highest quality setup out there, but I get a mixed reaction from most people. My Mom and Dad, especially my Dad, loves to come over for a movie. My brother could care less while my sister will come over occassionally. A friend of mine is into this just as much as I am, but we do...
I had a renewing problem, but it was all figured out. I had emailed them a couple of times with little help so I decided to call them. I think that is the best way to get a hold of them and get it figured out. My problem was they cashed my check but did not have me down as renewed for another...
I can't really comment on floor standing Sony speakers, but I am impressed with the M40 sub. Of course, I would love to have an SVS sub, but that is not going to happen anytime soon. The next weak link in my setup is definitely the receiver. I still get the "trademark" Sony hiss from the...
Thanks everyone for sharing your experiences as well. Unfortunatly I got the new speakers just in time to pack them back up and move them to the new house. My dedicated room may take longer than I thought. I guess I will have to unpack things quicker so that I can get started. David
I am not much of a poster, more of a reader. But I feel that I should post to share my experience. I bought into the Home Theater scene with a HTIB from Sony. For a little over a year now, I have been enjoying movies through little cube speakers and the Sony SAWM40 sub. I have upgraded my video...
I worked at Pizza Hut for 2-1/2 years, starting out as a cook, then prepping the dough, and finally a shift manager. I guess I built up an immunity over those 2-1/2 years to their Pizza, but I will rarely order from them. Most of these cooks use way to much oil in the pans. When I left them...
I have had a little Casio handheld TV for years. Back when I first got it I went out to radio shack and picked up this . I am guessing that the new handhelds have an external antenna input like my older one has and this worked well. It could not, and still cannot, pick up every channel on...
Well after borrowing a Proxima X350 DLP projector over Christmas break, I was able to convince the wife that a front projector system is what we need. I was given a budget for a projector and made it happen!!! Check out my updated website to see my new setup. My sound is still the same old...
It would be great to have a PVR built in to the Xbox...but I know it would have put the cost a lot higher. I look forward to any future plans that MS may have as long as it doesn't require the purchase of multiple add on items. I think the Xbox has a lot of potential. Shoot, I got a kick out...
I was able to find HD packs but only 1 or 2 at each store I visited. Since I am in the non HDTV crowd and my only component inputs are being used by my DVD player, I needed the Advanced AV pack. That took 4 days to find one and I got the last one in the store. All in all I think that the Xbox...
Well just to update on what happened with my order. My neighbor just rang my door bell and in her hands was a box from DTS. It was a flat box that really wouldn't accomodate a poster very well. The box was all ready opened since the UPS guy left the "no one was home note" on her door for her...
Another thing to check under the Device Manager is for any "unknown" items. If you tried to install this USB device before and it failed, then the device is going to be installed as an unknown device. You need to delete this from the Device Manager under the "unknown" items, reboot, and then...
I am not sure about the use of DTS in games but in the Audio setup of the dashboard, you can enable both Dolby Digital and DTS :D. So the Xbox does have the ability but like I said, I am not sure of the use in games in the future. I don't use my Xbox as a DVD player so I can't test that either.
That really sucks Chris! I am sort of in the same boat as you though...with one exception. After purchasing my Xbox with what I thought was permission from the wife to do so , it was decided that it would be my birthday and Christmas gift. This is fine with me though since I all...
I placed my order on the 13th for 4 DVD's and a DTS poster to get the total over 50.00. On the 17th I received another email from them stating that some items were not available. I all ready knew what those items were so I guess I will enjoy looking at my poster on the wall . I spent...
I too just picked up an Xbox yesterday after telling my self that Game Cube was the route I was going to go. But after playing my brothers system last weekend...Halo, Project Gotham, and NFL Fever changed my mind. My take on noise is that the Xbox is quieter than my DC. The fan on my DC is...
Tom, I do remember some company producing this gaming monitor that had speakers mounted to it but I am not sure of the specs or if it was any different then a regular TV. My suggestion would be to pick up a higher end Sony, Toshiba, or Panasonic TV with component and S-video connectons. It may...
I was about to order from EB Games online and wait till after the 30th, but then decided to call around. To my surprise the EB in the mall near my office had 12 in stock. So of course I ran over and picked one up at lunch and then left work around 3 today. My problem is finding the Advanced...
Well since I have the same setup, my opinion is to move them lower. I have my rears about 1 to 1.5 ft above sitting height. I did not want them any lower because I feared that I would lose the other channel if someone was sitting on that side. Give it a try, you have nothing to lose. If you...
I just purchased one of these HT's in a box as well, the Sony HTDDW820. I had a limited budget of 500.00 to spend but knew I wanted a DD and DTS receiver since my DVD was compatible with both. After a few days of shopping and pricing I realized I needed a few hundred more to piece together a...
