Sorry to bump such an old thread! Does anyone know if this set originally came with a Certificate of Authenticity? The reason being I sold mine on eBay recently, and the buyer is claiming that it is missing, but I don't ever recall there being one.
The R2 release sounds like a great set. I'm sure as with Fox's recent release strategy, the 2-Disc Special Edition we get here in the states in a few months will be nearly identical.
If a slipcover is the exact same cover art as the case, I'll throw it out (don't even see the point of it in the first place); If it's a special piece different than the actual cover, I'll keep it (ex., Reservoir Dogs SE).
GREAT news from DVDAnswers.com...Warner Bros. is releasing The Aviator SE on May 24th! http://www.dvdanswers.com/index.php?...6143&n=1&burl= What's so great about it? It's not a Miramax DVD, so hopefully the transfer shouldn't be garbage. And since it's WB, so the transfer should be...
It's just as everyone predicted, and I'm glad I didn't buy any of these when the single discers came out. But now I can finally add "Man on Fire" to my wish list. I wonder if the simultaneous releases of 2-disc SEs for Kinsey and I Heart Huckabees with the single-disc versions is just Fox...
Definitely going to pick this one up...might even scour the import stores to see if there is a DTS version coming out somewhere. The sound on this one should be outstanding, and WB almost always delivers on the PQ.
It's not confirmed yet that WB is producing the DVD, and I'm not getting my hopes up since Miramax were the domestic distributors. It would really be a shame to see such a beautifully-photographed movie wrecked by another pitiful Miramax transfer.
The article doesn't say anything about adding scenes. Craig's upset because it sounds like the film is being edited down from its original theatrical presentation.
It's a standard practice for Universal now to let some of their popular catalog titles go out-of-print and them reissue them (look at Fast Times at Ridgemont High and Dazed & Confused). Since Mallrats has been a popular catalog title, I wouldn't be surprised if it was their idea to go for...
Knowing Smith, I wouldn't be surprised if the Mallrats 10th Anniversary Disc is similar to the Clerks 10th Anniversary set, with a new documentary, commentary, and *hopefully* the unintentionally hilarious Edited-for-Television version of the film.
Picked up the gift set at BB this morning, but I had to ask about the bonus disc, and they said they couldn't find their shipment of them! They took my name and number down, but I'm probably going to call up there later to find out if they have it. EDIT: I just got off the phone with BB- they...
I don't have the DVD yet (I looked at the box art on DVDEmpire.com) but I believe that the R2 version had each special separately, and this disc is basically the same release.
For those of you planning to pick up the Office Specials DVD on Tuesday, ESPECIALLY if you haven't seen it, be forewarned that the back of the packaging has a photo of a HUGE spoiler from the end of the special! Big thumbs down to whoever thought to pull that one off.
That's unbelievable. What's the point of this? I mean, it's an *Unrated* feature. We can see heads blowing up, disembowelments, and non-stop blood, gore, and carnage, but a pair of bare breasts is off-limits? Unless it was a deliberate change by the director, there's really no excuse for it.
DVD Answers has just posted the info on the R1 release of GITS 2: Innocence, set for Dec. 28. http://www.dvdanswers.com/index.php?...5096&n=1&burl= I think this one will make the "worst cover art" thread also!
For those of you who haven't seen the movie, I HIGHLY recommend renting it instead of making a blind buy. That even goes for Alien and/or Predator fans, as there is not much in the movie that you will like, since it pretty much tosses the mythology of both characters out the window. And even for...
Mark, since we all know that there are 2-disc versions coming out in practically every country BUT the U.S., I would bet money that we'll see a 2-disc SE of The Day After Tomorrow a few months after the single-disc streets. Fox's new policy is really disheartening, IMO. They were always one of...
The same thing happened to me at my local CC this morning, but they wouldn't sell me a copy. Someone checked and came back and told me that it had been recalled and they couldn't sell it. They also had only about 3-4 copies out for display.
