Dean, If you are running XP MCE, than this is the program you need! http://thegreenbutton.com/files/15/a...try112082.aspx This program is brilliant! I've been using it for over a year and it works perfect. It gives you the flexibility to store your movies on any drive on your network and...
I use a Harmony remote with my mce 2005 system. The only thing is, I had to buy the official MS remote to make it work. It comes with the USB receiver you need to make it happen. You can find them on newegg.com for around $40.
Something that might work even better than Movie Maker is Photostory 3. It's a free download from microsoft. I forget how to do links on this board, but you can google it. It has a few things that make working with photos easier than Movie Maker. You will still need DVD authoring software that...
I have an older one that only has your standard two buttons and scroll wheel. I use it for my htpc and love it. I find that it's a little buggy when I use the gyro feature but is still more convenient than having to use a flat surface when sitting on my couch. I'm definitely happy with it.
That's too funny! I just got the same thought in my head for my media server as well. A co-worker of mine used to work with point of sales equipment that included touch screen monitors for restaurants. We were brainstorming some ideas and saw that Planar was a popular choice. Even Dell has an...
 Dude, that was good! I think the commercials are hysterical. There just silly 30 second clips that remind us to lighten up and laugh at the absurd. I'm all for more laughter!
I agree that it will probably be Jordis on the chopping block tonight, even though I thought it was Mig who was the weakest. His original sounded too show-tuney and not rock enough. I'm not the biggest fan of J.D. but have to say he did a great job on Tuesday(although his original sounded like a...
I don't understand this at all. When I watch the show, I see performances that are fun to watch. I don't see drama. I am enjoying this show quite a bit, and have agreed with most of the cuts so far. I think Ty is talented, but not right for the band he was auditioning for. I also agree that the...
Why is that sad? It's really no different than any other interview/audition process. Often the people doing the hiring already have an idea of who they want. But the voting process is important too, because if the audience doesn't like the new singer, they ain't buying the new record! INXS has...
I would bet that the power supply is the issue. I had a similar problem with a pc and went through the same train of thought that you have and found that when I replaced the PS it worked fine. Of course, I have been wrong about computers many times before. :b
Actually, a co-worker's daughter bought a used car with this or something very similar to it installed. It worked without a problem and was a way for her to buy a car with having very little credit. She didn't need a co-signer this way. Everyone was happy in the end and the car is already paid off.
That case is pretty sweet looking, Steve. I think that should work great for you. But, I think that RAM is SODIMM Ram for notebook PCs. You probably want this one instead.
Wow! The picture with the NVDVD decoders looks great! I am very pleased. Now I just need the keyboard shortcuts so I can continue to be a cheapskate and not have to purchase the remote control right now.
Thanks Chris and Steve, I got it working with NVDVD. Oh well, $20 more it is! But, I do have to say I love the integration of everything: music, movies, TV, radio, and pictures. Way cool!
Does anyone know which MPEG-2 decoders work in MCE 2005? I'm a little upset because after buying the OEM version MCE and a Hauppage 250 mce TV tuner and already having the oem version of PowerDVD that came with my dvd Rom, I keep getting a decoder error whenever I try to watch live TV. From...
Freakin' idiots! I see morons like this and pray that they wipe out but realize that they would probably end up hurting somebody innocent. The only thing to do is hope a cop sees them and can stop them before anything does happen. It might be cool to see in a movie, but terifying to think this...
I never knew there was a problem with Tiger honoring rebates. I've bought there many times w/o a problem. Oh well, I guess mileage varies for everyone.
Wow! Thanks for the input. I made the appointment for monday. Now I also know what to look for if there's a problem. I wish I was more useful when it comes to cars but it just isn't my thing.
OK, I have a 2001 Ford Explorer 4x4 that I had a routine service on about 4000 miles ago. I was told I needed lower ball joints at a cost of about $500. Not really being a car guy, I asked what this meant. I was told that if I didn't get the repair it would mean excess wear on my tires. That was...
I think I pretty much have made up my mind to just buy a new printer so I appreciate the validation there! I was actually looking at the HP 7960 so I could do enlargements as well. Is that a good choice or would a dye-sub printer be better? Man-Fai Wong, I downloaded Jpegcrop and it rocks! That...

Thanks for all the great advice guys! I appreciate it. Unfortunately I still have Windows 2000 and it doesn't have an option for pictures when you customize a folder. Which is kind of a shame because that sounds like just what I need. Might have to upgrade! :D
