Hey Don... welcome from another Allen resident :) Have you been over to the DHTG site yet? Link Removed There are a few of us that get together fairly often and talk shop, and few more of us that are actually doing HT/Media Rooms for locals as well. If you want to hook up for lunch and...
Anyone have a component video to VGA monitor adapter? I've found a few, but prices are a little high, so I thought I'd check here. If so... lemme know what you have, condition, price, etc. Thanks!
Hrmmm.... Interesting stuff. Our new sub (using a 12" driver and 12" PR) hit 116db at 30hz at 12+ ft, in a 3.1 cuft enclosure. Two of those are plenty for me :)
I am looking for a Dalite HCCV screen. Interested in either raw screen material, permwall, etc. Ideally want a 16:9 106" or close. Email me if you have something for trade/sale.
Do you have a little more information? Is this the HCCV material? 106" at 16:9 or 4:3? Is it just the raw screen material with snaps, or is there a frame? Do you know the overall dimensions from edge to edge?
Actually... I'd say for a subwoofer, it matters more (technically). Standing waves are your enemy, and parallel surfaces (walls of your enclosure) help to create standing waves. The perfect enclosure would have 0 parallel lines. Is this getting extreme? Yes somewhat... but I've definately...
No... both paints I referenced in my previous posts are available to you. Luminescent paints (for ultraviolet light) are available here; http://www.wildfirefx.com/product_lupaint.asp?PID=12 and other places. The glow in the dark paints are available at www.Glowinc.com , www.hobbyglow.com...
To do yourself, or have done? The link above is a service, and they simply paint the ceiling, then put on the glow in the dark pigment paint. I'm leaning toward using the black light paint myself... dont have to worry about the fade out over time. Gonna cost more for the blacklights though.
Yes... just a very dark blue, with a spatter for the stars, and maybe even some clouds (say, ~10pm sky). I've looked at those paints you pointed me to also... found a few good suppliers. Almost all of them recommend painted it on a white base color, which i'm not quite sure why.
I picked up quite a few Goldberg 35mm reels, and decided to fully "restore" many of them. These have been sandblasted and then powder coated in near-chrome. More pictures here. I'm looking for $85 each, discounts for multiples.
Well, there are other options, but Middle Atlantic is good stuff, lots of offerings, and as good or better pricing as others. SmartHome is also one of the more fair suppliers as far as pricing goes. Yes.. rack stuff is expensive.... That's why many people just do built in shelving instead...
Well... shelves and storage are about your biggest expense. I don't have many shelves in mine yet, but the SmartHome site has prices on all the shelf and storage options. As far fans, I have 2 fans just like this one. They are loud, but move alot of air, both above and below the fan module...
Yup... looks like the Slim-5. Take a look at www.smarthome.com for fair prices on them and other Middle Atlantic parts, etc. Here are pictures of my Slim-5.
Well, I got my latest "toy"... with plans to use it to power 2 of the SVS subs (coming in the future) :)
