Jim,
you are missing the whole point of the movie. Maybe it is too deep for your understanding. Oh and who cares if it is not "believable"? I have news for you...90% of the movies out there are not believable.
Wow.
First I just want to say that I am glad everyone is happy with this tweak. I have never seen it nor do I feel I need to use it. But, if it floats your boat then that is great to hear.
However, I find it mind boggling that something like that would be "the talk of the meet" and be more...
Just finished watching the whole movie (DTS) and I can confirm there is no shortage of bass. Before as stated, I had just checked a few various scenes and thought maybe the rest of the movie was lacking bass but nope, the bass is there and it fits in perfectly. It's not boomy or anything like...
Terry,
I just attempted to play the bronto (is that the right dino? brancio?) scene where he goes up to get food and comes down. I played it at I'd say 2 or 3dB below reference level. My SPL meter hit approx 104dB from my veiwing area with the SPL at head level. I didn't play the whole scene...
I'd just like to say I feel bad for the people who aren't getting good bass. Hope your problems can be fixed soon! :)
Rich,
I still don't understand the reasoning you have but hey, if checking them out first and being concerned of future Universal DTS titles makes you feel better then by all...
Mark,
I thnk you'll want to decrease that level for the mains. 200Hz seems high. Plus, if your sub cuts off at say 125Hz then you're going to miss out on the bass between those frequencies.
Is that right people?
On a somewhat different note, I read the intial post at that DVDfile thread and I think it is BS. I think the guy is just pulling peoples' chains. I would give reasons why but this is probably ot the place for it.
