Yeah, there's no way that movies like TITANIC,PHANTOM MENACE & PEARL HARBOR should be on top 5 worst of the year. And why not pick on movies like AMERICAN PIE 1 & 2? Is it only because it's got lots of sex and a low budget?

They should have a Cecil B. DeMill award type for lifetime achivement in bad movies. Think of the stars who deserve this. John Travolta,Michael Cain, Burt Reynolds.

I hope they make the menus look like a disco and have the scene listing by the name of the song like the laserdisc.

The laserdisc cav of WAR OF THE WORLDS looked beautiful. And was in stero. So why can't the dvd look & sound like that?

Let MGM take their time, since they did cancel it the 1st time to make a spec. ed. I hate when they put out a dvd and then bring out a spec. ed. in a few months like they did with PLATOON and are doing with the HOWLING.

DOG DAY AFTERNOON transfer is fine. I had the VHS tape that I bought in the 80's and that transfer had scratches on the film but on the dvd those are gone. If they made a Spec. Ed. they should include a short documentary on where the real life people the movie was based on are today. I know...

It seems we lost the WONKA war. Yes we got the petition to get the widescreen, but when it came to buying the widescreen we didn't produce. I didn't see the widescreen Wonka hit the Top 10 sales chart. And now one movie studio is re-releaseing widescreen dvds in Pan&Scan.

If this movie becomes a hit you can bet that will be the end of MALCOM IN THE MIDDLE, because he'll leave the show for a movie career.:frowning:

This movie wasn't the hit at the box-office so it looks when they put it out on VHS,laserdisc and then dvd it was a movie only. I remember SCARFACE in 1983 wasn't the hit also and then came to VHS in 1984 and people started buzz on it. Then it came on laserdisc as Pan&Scan in the 1990's but now...

I picked it up too! I laughed more then when I saw it back in the early 80's. The babe in the blue dress who shows her boobs has to have the best looking boobs in movie history. I'm talking Bo Derek, Phobe Cates, Pam Grier great! And the 2 scenes the have a poor image you can live with...

I own the ANIMAL HOUSE dvd and it's loaded with extras and the transfer & sound is good as could be. I would guess they printed so many copies and don't figure there's a market to print more.

The 60's GREEN HORNET was released in the 70's as a movie and was on dvd last year in 1:85 widescreen.

You would think that if the movie is for kids they would want to expose them to widescreen since they are the future. Instead they want to raise the young generation as Joe6pack!:angry:

MADONNA:TRUTH OR DARE has a great sound dvd. Really comes to life during the concert scenes.

Is that Bird movie about 90minutes long? And does the dvd have a bunch of extras? It sounds like they could have fit both versions on the dvd.

See what's the cheapest you can get it at the store and knock off some dollars off. Now BLOCKBUSTER sells their used dvds with only $2 off what you can get the same dvd new, that's a rippoff!:angry:
