Guys,
I just realized I am not the brightest diode in my LED TV.
I can buy the Apple TV and hook the HDMI to the TV, and run the optical audio out into my Yamaha RX-V995 through the CD input (which I don't use). I hooked the audio of my uVerse box to the Yamaha through this input and the Yamaha...
So I did my system upgrade, and Iron Man ran beautifully on my PS3. Great movie, I enjoyed it quite a bit, as this was the first time I watched it. But I went to the extras, and BD Live wouldn't work, it said I wasn't connected to the internet, but my PS3's WIFI light was happily blinking...
Wow, When I first put the disc in, I got the chest symbol as well. So I read the box and it said I may need to do a firmware upgrade (PS3). Now I have to wait for the system upgrade, and then do the ten minutes with the chest symbol. I really wanted to take my shoes off and start watching...
I mailed my rebate form in on 10/22/2007. My order never showed as processing. I called last week to find out if it got lost in the mail. The person on the phone was very pleasant but could not find my order and asked me to check back this week. My discs came at the end of last week, and were...
drobbins,
I have enjoyed my few short weeks with the PS3 80 gig. Like you, I don't have a HDMI receiver, but the sound is fantastic anyways. The image is breathtaking. I was also worried about the IR remote, as my wife likes the Harmony 890 we have. I bought a $15 remote adapter from NYKO...
Hello All, I am super new to the high def game. I have a true HD 1080p TV (Sony KDS 55A2020), and I am using the PS3 80 gig as a blu ray player. I have the player connected to the TV with an HDMI cable and the audio runs to my Receiver via a Optical cable (my receiver doesn't have HDMI...
Hello Bob,
I am not sure of the policy of posting links, but if you go to Amazon and then select the 80gig PS3, there is a link in the description that takes you to a pdf offer form. (I think it is called PS3 offer).
Thank you,
Don
Hey Guys, I ordered the 80 gig PS3 Motorstorm for $599 from Amazon on Tuesday 10/16/2007. The price dropped and I called them on Friday and they refunded my cc for $100. Its worth a shot to try. Thank you, Don
Hey Everybody,
On Tuesday 10/16, I ordered an 80gig PS3 with Motorstorm from Amazon for $599.
The price just dropped, and I called them and they are refunding the $100 immediately. I would recommend that forum members do the same.
Thank you,
Don
I did buy a USB IR remote adapter. I don't need it to do everything, When I use the PS3, I will use the blu tooth extra remote, but my wife likes using a single remote that is simple like the Harmony.
Thank you,
Don
Hello All,
My new 80g PS3 arrived yesterday. Set up was a snap. It came with Motorstorm, which is pretty fun. I have to learn to work the sixaxis though.
I have a 1080p TV (Sony KDS 55A2020), and the graphics are incredible. I also bought Planet Earth, and Pirates DMC.....Incredible PQ...
Hello Raul, Please let me know how your experience the V1800. I believe this is the unit for me as well. In the meantime, I am going to buy a PS3 and limp along with my old receiver until my tax return. Have a great day in PR! Don
Thank you both for your quick replies. I think I have eliminated the Sony from Consideration. It is down to the Yamaha V1800 or the Onky 805. I just can't tell if the Onky upconverts to 1080p. While the Onky has the THX certification, that doesn't matter to me. The Yammy's DSP's is not...
Hello Everybody, I have always learned a ton from this forum and value your opinions. I have a TV that I love (Sony 55A2020) and a great set of SVS speakers and sub. The problem that I am now finding is that my receiver is the weak link in the chain. It is probably close to ten years old...
Hello Ken, Welcome to the forum. I can tell you that I have had a few receivers and recently upgraded speakers. With all of them I have calibrated with either Digital Video Essentials or Avia. Obviously, after calibrating, I obtained better integration of sound. And it is fantastic sound...
Hello Joe, I have this same problem. I am reluctant to use double sided foam, and if you have the SCS speakers, you know they are quite large in comparison to the support provided by the Sanus stands. In my opinion, it is a bad design. Eric recommended the double sided foam to me as well, but...
Hello Jason, SVS is a great company and their speakers sound really good to my ears. I believe their specialty is their subs, which rock by the way. They currently have a 5.1 set up for $999, their 7.1 is $1,175. This is a great system and you should look into it...
Hello Steve, I have a 622 and a Sony HDTV. I might be misinterpretting your question, but I will do my best. I will go with the assumption that a prepro is an A/V receiver. HDMI carries audio as well as video, but if you are using your receiver for your audio, you will need to get the audio...
Hello Vinny, I think the first thing you need to do if find a good A/V receiver that handles what you need and prepares you for the future. I have a nice receiver but it is a few years old. It doesn't have the ability to do HDMI switching, but it does work. Once you get yourself a good...
Ron, You have an excellent product and should be proud. I am amazed that you have returns, but thus is life. I seriously think that you should add the Sentinel as a movie to view with solid clean bass. Have a good holiday weekend, Don
While I am not a genius or know that much about speakers, but SVS's policy of a 45 day return is a very generous proposition. No sub reacts the same in the show room as it does in the home. The only true place to know if you will love the sub is in your own home. Having recently purchased...
Hello Leigh, I have enjoyed my new SVS speakers. For the price you are suggesting, I think you can get the SBS 5.0 system for $599 (http://www.svsound.com/products-spks-sbs01.cfm) They are great speakers, well built. And they are easily moveable should you need to take them out of the room...
Hello Everybody, I have to tell you I popped in a SD DVD last night for "The Sentinel", and was blown away by the bass in the movie. Not just with the action sequencese, but some of the music and heart beat sounds. I didn't expect it. I can't wait to rewatch my movies with this new set up and...
Hello Steve, Congrats on the new TV, I have a KDS-55A2020 and I love it. I have set it to the Cnet settings as well. To get to the advanced settings hit the display button, scroll down to the tool box, then select custom. The advanced settings come right up. Thank you, Don
Hello Everybody, My set came and I am very impressed. But let me tell you, the sub is huge! After getting rid of the old towers though, there was plenty of room. I made a huge mistake when I ordered my cable and connectors from blue jeans and didn't order enough connectors. I guess I was...
Hello Charles, I am totally shooting in the dark here. But, as I understand it, your TV displays an image based on input, if the input isn't on first, maybe that is the default. Can you try to change your macros to make the other items turn on first and thus avoid the issue? Thank you, Don
Hello Steve, Thanks for your response. It makes sense. I guess it is time to buy a new receiver with HDMI switching capabilities. Last time i bought one, I was looking at S-Video switching capabilities, how times change and technology marches on. I do love my current receiver, Yamaha RX...
I have a Sony KDS-55A2020. I can't get the optical audio out to work. I have tried everything. I can hook up a dvd player with HDMI and everything works when the Optical out from the DVD goes to the receiver, but if I hook the optical out through the TV, no audio. I called Sony and they told...
I have to add to my previous comments. It turns out that my mother's outlets had flipped a GFI breaker. Both outlets we tried were connected to the same circuit. She didn't realize it until several days later when she tried to plug in her vacuum cleaner. Once again, Logitech acted right. She...
