    American Idol - Season 10

Agree completely. It boggles my mind that a singing competition continues to showcase artists who base their entire career on auto-tune. How do you tell some bright-eyed, well-singing kid that they are not good enough when you have millionaires who can't sing a note on your stage week after...

    American Idol - Season 10

I don't think it was a coincidence that there was a Hulk Hogan appearance and the events at the end of the show. It was a total work and I'm not even sure Casey was REALLY in the bottom three, let alone the lowest vote-getter. Very disappointed in the WWE theatrics. Contrived and, to quote...

    American Idol - Season 10

I think JC is there too soon. I agree he's not ready. I think the sympathy of him being dissed by the group carried him through. I actually expected (hoped) there would be some blowback on round glasses guy and he would be sent home. He is just not likable.

    American Idol - Season 10

I can not believe the one paramount cardinal rule of Hollywood week ("Don't forget the words") was broken last night. No, not broken, shattered actually. Maybe that was a Simon thing and they tried to separate from that, but man, it seemed like forgetting the words was an instant pass to the...

    Mr. Brooks - quick review

Saw it last night, my review: "Mr. Brooks" is quite a departure for Kevin Costner. Costner plays the titular Earl Brooks, a philanthropist, family man and schizophrenic serial killer. Costner is joined by William Hurt, who plays Marshall, Brooks' imaginary friend who goads him to kill and...

    Last Comic Standing Season 4

I agree that Ty was the strongest of the night. Chris was good, but inconsistent. Josh was good, but, sadly, his disability got in the way off his Gabriel cell phone joke (he was fumbling for the phone so long with no dialogue, that you didn't know what was going on-the payoff worked for me...

    Last Comic Standing Season 4

I don't want to be a "conspiracy theorist", but I am really starting to believe Gabriel was a "plant". He was clearly funnier than the rest of the group. They all deferred to him as the master. Both Jim Norton and Alonzo Bodden commented last night that he was a veteran comic they have both...

    Superman Returns (2006)

Another homage? In the scene where Lex Luthor explains his evil scheme to Lois, with the maps, etc., the scene looked extremely similar to Spacey, as Mel Profitt, explaining his "Malthusian equation scheme to Vinnie Terranova in "Wiesguy". Even the set looked similar. Just saw it yesterday...

    Any Other HTF Bloggers?

I'm a HTF "Troll", meaning I visit often and rarely post, but I do have a combination family/pop culture blog at http://bonamigifamily.blogspot.com

    CSI - 9/25/03 (season premiere)

I believe the killers are the "couple that got away" and described the M.O. to Grissom and Brass. That seems to make the most sense at this point. They would know what the police think is the M.O. and change it accordingly. Fits the "hide in plain sight" method of avoiding detection.

Am I the only one in the world that likes soft fries?

It's GOT to be mushy fries with me! BK's fries are, by far, the worst fast food fries there are.

Any 'KING OF QUEENS' fans in the house?

Required viewing in my house. Kevin James is great and the rest of the cast is very funny, also. Very underrated show, in my opinion the best of the Monday night lineup. As funny as "Raymond" is, it seems to have settled into a formula.

"Session 9" - anyone else see it?

Just saw this last night and really enjoyed it. If comparisons must be made, "Blair Witch Project" is the closest with a dose of "The Shining" thrown in for good measure. Very slow, methodical suspense build to a wild conclusion. Well acted and I must admit I'm a David Caruso fan (despite BAD...

    Alias 3/3/02

I really enjoyed the tension of this episode. Specifically, in Sloane's office and the open question: What did Sloane see her doing, exactly? With regards to the spy/sci-fi thing: Did anyone read the Entertainment Weekly artice about the show? JJ Abrams (the creator/producer) said when he...

    Any other talk radio junkies?

My lineup: AMs: Dee Snider, formerly of Twisted Sister, broadcasts out of Hartford, CT. Mid-days: Glenn Beck, syndicated. From 12 to 3: Rush and WFAN, bouncing back and forth. More on Mike and the Mad Dog, starting at 1:00PM Afternoon Drive: Opie and Anthony. My job also keeps me in...

    Friends-Joey and Rachel episode speculation...

If they go the "very special episode" route, they'll lose me. Just be funny. Even the "soap opera"-style plot lines (Ross & Rachel, Chandler & Monica) never got too serious and were played for laughs.

    Friends-Joey and Rachel episode speculation...

I'm in the misdirection camp myself. Joey and Rachel as a serious couple just doesn't make sense. It comes out of leftfield and would reverse what has been a great season so far. How many times did NBC pull the "Is this the night for Niles and Daphne?" tease only to have an episode which had...

What did you think of "Proof of Life?"

I liked it. Surprised it didn't do better. I agree with Brian, however. The "romantic" angle between Crowe and Ryan seemed forced and unnecessary. I never understood why Hollywood feels male and female leads MUST become involved at some point. The story revolves around him rescuing her...

Director's Commentary on "The Fast and the Furious" deleted scenes

Same here. Selected "Play All" with commentary off and worked just fine.

    Anybody seen Jimmy Neutron?

I agree. I took my son to see it and was actually dreading going. Pleasantly surprised. My son loved it and I actually laughed a few times. Not a bad flick to get "stuck" taking your kid to. B+ sounds about right to me.
