Jeff D: I heard the Apex 1100w plays mp3 dvd-r s. I haven't tried it myself tho
KeithH: Although good mp3 navigation is a no-brainer no dvd or cd mp3 player I've seen has a decent mp3 interface close to a portable. They mention 'mp3' but it is usually just the usual useless mp3 playback.

Nice machine. However, it might be unusable if it does not have excellent mp3 navigation. One needs to find easily a song in these mp3 discs. I'll buy it immediately if it display id3s and has digital output.
Next machine: a dvd changer that plays mp3s on dvdr!
The RCA changer had a negative review in this forum. Check

It can't play 320 mp3s.
The only machine that plays mp3s somewhat satisfactory is the Hyundai 380/Daewoo 5700 (TYT DVD player).

Unfortunately I have over 10000 mp3 on CDs. So although the audiotron looks terrific for someone with their collection on HD I need an mp3 cd player. Of course audiotron plus the computer cd player could do the job but a standalone machine would be better as my computer is not on all the time...
I had good luck with the Hyundai 380. Excelent mp3 navigation both on lcd and screen (id3s on screen) and reading (vbr, multiseesion you name it) and sound (coax and optical).
Could you tell us a bit more about the player?
I am more interested about mp3 playback.
Does it read multisessions? What bitrates? How do you navigate an mp3 cd? Does it support long filenames? Does it display ID3 tags? Does it have a digital aoutput? Thanks!
