I ripped it to MKV then used print screen to capture from VLC. It was in full screen 1920 x 1080.

I wonder if software on my computer removed the grain somehow when I did the screen captures. I'll have to pop it in my blu-ray player on my big tv and check it out.

I should return them to send a message especially since the 16:9 is on Peacock but I'll probably have to pay a restocking fee and shipping. At least it doesn't look terrible in 16:9 and isn't excessively zoomed in like Dukes of Hazzard on CMT. From the screenshots the DVDs look zoomed in too much.
