Best PJ in that price range is the JVC RS15 or RS25. If your familiar with AVS forums, then I would suggest you get with Jason in sales and go for a RS20 or the sale they have on the JVC RS35. These are in your price range and it will best the two projectors your looking at by a long shot.
Not to discredit the OPs choice of PJ, but I agree with you Gregg. I like the Epsons allot better. Not sure what the Panny 4000U will bring to table but I guess we shall see soon enough.
Agree with you Greg which is why I recommend the Carada over the Stewart due to price range. As for Sim2 I know most of the midrange models are way above 5K but have not seen anything in the price range you mentioned, especially buying new.
At 6K I would buy JVC RS15 or 25 and Carada Criterion Screen or Stewart. I have seen Stewart screens and though very nice I went Carada for a few reasons. JVC is always the projector to beat for some reason, I've owned two so far and have spent some time with them. Cust.Service is always very...
Chief makes a very good mount as mentioned by others. Hopefully Proj People is offering you the RPAU model as it is a Universal Mount. I have one paired with my JVC RS10. Also Chief does make down extension pipes to pair up with the ceiling mounts, I personally use a 3" down pipe and it works...
If you're going to use the LSi's I highly suggest you invest in an external amp to power those speakers. They are 4 ohms speakers and most receivers can't power them as they should be. You'll end up blowing something.
I think 1080p should be the no-brainer here, especially at what the prices are for good PJs at less than 2000. Not sure what your bedget is for the pj but consider Epson 1080, 1080UB as they are under 2k. I have a JVC HD1 on ebay with 900hrs listed for 2k. I'm not here to push a sale but to make...
I suggest Dr. Clean from Digital Innovations. Its pretty good stuff as with compressed air cans. Stay away from glass but try to blow everything out. If opening up the PJ scares, perhaps you should send it in for service.
CSi5 or the CSiA6 will be the much better center. The CSi3 is a ok, but the 5/6 will give better dialog and enhance your front soundstage. Go for the bigger center, u wont regret it.
