Ron: you bring up a big issue: the collectabilty of dvd???? TO BUY OR NOT TO BUY that is the question. If you are right and sales are slow this disc will probably the only pressing of this disc on this format...meaning that you should probable buy TWO copies of this disc, save one, sell it...

look the bottom line here is this disc the best it can be......NO......I would much perfer a matted/widescreen transfer with HIGHER resoultion....This picture is too important not to be done right...I just watched this movie on digital cable(about two and 1/2 times). I DONT WANT TO SEE A REPEAT...
Just for your info...They Live region 1 is 16X9 and 2:35 with dolby 4.0...if you can find it get it...I liked the transfer....and LOVED the movie....its an image/universal release so there is the possibly of a new universal edition but you will be save with this release......
