I can't comment on the 1604 since I never listened to one. I own an 1802 and when it comes to movies it's ok, but for the music, the pre outs are of great help, since the 1802 itself is pretty poor in this area. I once compared the 1802 to 1602, and the 1602 was pretty poor, bad SNR and the...
