Warner Archive In 2017. Take A Shot!

Well, Palance's only TV series other than THE GREATEST SHOW ON EARTH...

Is the b&w era of TV on DVD slowly coming to an end?

Yes to this. I have a few more B&W series that I would still jump on if somehow they ever saw release, such as Burns & Allen, the remaining seasons of ZANE GREY THEATER, etc., but the second season of BURKE'S LAW is an item whose continued absence still bothers me, and I still hold out hope...

TCM Vault: Universal Westerns of the 1950s, Feb 18

Yes, I too would eagerly snap up some more Audie on DVD.

Rawhide Season 4, V. 1 coming in May

That's true, Encore must deal with the versions and elements they receive, and I doubt that they would have passed over the uncut remastered episodes if CBS Syndication had given them a choice in the matter.

Rawhide Season 4, V. 1 coming in May

What I was talking about, is the fact that Encore Westerns aired the episode during the New Years marathon in a version which had no "Rawhide" opening credits whatsoever, simply a fade-in to Eric Fleming's opening narration.

Rawhide Season 4, V. 1 coming in May

I am not up on my RAWHIDE trivia/info, but was the opening episode ("Incident of the Tumbleweed Wagon") always aired without any opening titles or credits? The Encore Westerns marathon showed the episode as starting with Eric Fleming's narration, no RAWHIDE title or theme, and I just wondered if...

Rawhide Season 4, V. 1 coming in May

I watched the Rawhide Season 1 episodes I dvr'ed during the Encore Westerns marathon on New Years Day, and most of the episodes appear to be cut versions, running 46-48 minutes in length and for the most part sporting the old Viacom tails. Hope the following Rawhide seasons are going to be the...

Warner Archive Discussion Thread (The Announcements/The Films)

Well, I can report at last that I received my third copy of SHOW OF SHOWS this evening, and it is the full version. I enjoyed the revue very much, and it was intriguing to compare it to MGM's HOLLYWOOD REVUE of 1929. The respective masters of ceremonies, Frank Fay for WB and Jack Benny for...

Warner Archive Discussion Thread (The Announcements/The Films)

No luck for me either, Vitaphone. The SHOW OF SHOWS replacement disc I received today was another copy of the truncated feature, so it was time to contact Customer Service for yet another exchange. At least now the WB customer reps are acknowledging that yes, this release has been a problem...

    Warner Archive Discussion Thread (FEEDBACK)

If the Warner Archive store won't post my review or anybody else's post warning of problems with the SHOW OF SHOW discs, potential buyers are being led down the olde primrose path, as far as I'm concerned.

Warner Archive Discussion Thread (The Announcements/The Films)

Well, according to the UPS tracking information, I have about another week to wait for the arrival of my replacement copy of SHOW OF SHOWS. Early returns are showing that I have a good (bad?) chance of receiving a fresh copy of... the same 63-minute botched job. But hope springs eternal. I am...

    Warner Archive Discussion Thread (FEEDBACK)

I am waiting on my replacement copy of SHOW OF SHOWS, and I hope the replacement contains the correct, 123-minute feature. In the meantime, I noticed that the review I submitted to the Warner Archive about this DVD and its problems still hasn't been posted...

Warner Archive Discussion Thread (The Announcements/The Films)

Yes, I am at least relieved to know that the entire run of SHOW OF SHOWS hasn't turned out like the copies I and others received, although I dread the possibility of getting another copy, checking it out, getting another, checking it out, on and on until finally I get the lucky disc with the...
