Hopefully we don't hear more horror stories about the 1014. Just the fact that it wouldn't work with Express vu/Dishnet Dolby satellite receivers was enough to make me send mine back. I'm out quite a bit more for my V2400 yamy, but at least I know it's gonna keep on thumpin' for a few years.
Well I had a 1014 and it didn't have component video up converversion. You know the 3 video lines that make HDTV? The yamaha has 2 component video ins and 1 out. Plus it will convert any video in (s-video, rca video) to component video out. The 1014 doesn't have HDTV video at all.
Well I never had a problem with the auto speaker set up with the 2400. It also has 2 more optical ins and video up conversion which is a must if your thinking of HDTV in the future. It also adds 2 more effect speakers to the 7.1 surround to make it a true THX capable receiver. I've always loved...
Hopefully you don't have a Dolby Digital Expressvu or Dishnet Receiver that you want to use it with, because it doesn't work. I sent mine back for that reason. I got a Yamaha V2400 instead, more money, but alot more features including auto speaker setup. And it works perfectly with my satellite...
Well I just picked up my Yamaha RX-V2400 today to replace the 1014 I sent back because of the problem with the Digital on my Satellite receiver. I paid a little more but this baby's got alot more features that I can use. I'll let you all know how it goes, I'm going to hook it up tonight.;)
Thanx for the info. Well they might also add Bell Expressvu to the list because it doesn't work either. Why does my old Pioneer 607S work with both Dish and Bell?? What receiver would you recommend that is compatible? The main reason I want a Dolby Digital Receiver is for my Satellite system.
I got my 1014 last week and I hooked it up. I love the auto speaker setup. Unfortunately the Dolby Digital optical in from my Satellite receiver is very intermitent and a movie with 5.1 Digital won't play any sound at all. The Dolby sign on the display flashes on and off rapidly as if it's...
