The Lorre formula is starting to get thin, but will probably endure enough for this to get a few season. A little edgy, a little sleazy, a little precious, . . . but not too much, peppered with a bunch of one-liners, making 'fellow kids' pop culture references.

The anachronism of the Roger Miller song didn't bother me so much as the memory of Johnny Knoxville testing the hypothesis.

It's not a rip-roaring romp, but it nonchalantly swerves into the absurd in a way that is amusing. If you're looking for a different show that carries a similar Matt Berry brilliance vibe to WWDitS, give Year of the Rabbit a Try first.
